If I could give 0 stars I would. What a waste of time (8 months to be exact). Hopefully I can save someone else their time and money. I paid Maxwell $4000 to do a 30 day research and review of my brother’s trial transcript. After 5 months of them searching for the transcript, I was told that “a team” was “researching” the trial transcript. I later determined that they didn’t even have a trial transcript to review. I had to request that they send me the documents to review and I had to tell them that it was NOT the trial transcript. They only provided me with copies of appeals that were previously filed by other lawyers and partial grand jury testimony. I was told that they were unable to get the correct trial transcript from the court reporter Wendy Myhan. Since this is what I hired Maxwell for and no other options were presented to me, I requested a refund and was returned $700!!!! Leroy Maxwell’s paralegals have little to no knowledge about anything regarding the law. They could not even handle simple requests. I was charged for documents that I never requested and were not helpful in any way. I was promised call backs on several occasions but never received any calls. Do not waste your time or money trying to work with this law firm. They will only give you the run around and then over charge you for work that was never done. & in response to your comment..what is untrue? This is nothing but the truth you should be ashamed for doing absolutely nothing on my brother case & charging my family for work that was never done. We wasted time and money. What would I benefit from lying?

Johari Burnette highly recommended he came and talked to me twice in the county jail and told me exactly how it was going to play out and didn’t just sale me lies & he showed up in the courtroom and spoke a good word on my behalf and got me the best deal I could’ve got the judge even told me “he normally doesn’t sign off on these kinda deals my lawyer did well”

Update...it’s now December and I have yet to get the itemized bill to breakdown what happen to the money I paid Mr Bailey at Maxwell Tillman for the service he did not provide. I paid this company in full and they did not do anything to help my love one except send a generic memo that I could have did myself. They didn’t have the common decency to even try and address my issue I guess because they can’t prove where the money went. This is the absolute last time I ever support a black owned business because you don’t receive quality service! Every chance I get I will speak about the way they took my money and didn’t provide a service or invoice! DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM!!!

Johari Brunette was very responsive, knowledge of the law and honest while representing me. Fought for me like he said he would. Highly recommend him.
