A FATHER'S SALVATION I love my daughter more than anything or anybody in the universe. She has been #1 in my eye and my heart since the day she was born. I would do absolutely anything for my baby girl. But things got really ugly after I filed for divorce… My ex immediately took my daughter and began hurling accusations and allegations at me left and right. A Mother can throw up legal road blocks very easily by simply alleging falsehoods. It is then up to the Father to prove to the Court that Mother’s accusations are illegitimate. I was up against an order of protection, allegations of domestic violence, allegations of mental illness, allegations of alcohol abuse, and allegations of substance abuse. My ex also created falsified evidence and distributed this falsified evidence to the Court, the Court Appointed Advisor, our families, and everybody in our social network. She was also looking to bankrupt me by demanding alimony and child support of thousands per month. I missed my daughter like crazy. All I wanted to do was be a Daddy again, but I felt like the world was against me. I finally fired my first attorney because he lacked the critical thinking skills and legal creativity and was just looking to rack up billable hours. To be honest, I was very skeptical about hiring a woman because of how awful, disgusting, and humiliating my ex-wife’s propaganda was. I was so ashamed to be accused of such vile and reprehensible things. The first time I interviewed Aarti, I could barely look her in the eye due to shame while I told everything I was up against and what my ex was saying about me. Aarti was extraordinarily professional, non-judgmental, empathetic, practical, objective, and realistic in her initial evaluation of my case. She was able to deliver to me some very hard-to-swallow truths about my situation. She then immediately started developing a plan of action. It was clear to me that she was highly intelligent. The more I worked with Aarti, the more impressed I was by her. I was very emotionally involved in my case and sometimes did or said things that could have hurt my case. When this happened, Aarti was able to ‘rein me in’ and tell me when I was wrong or out-of-line and provide the guidance I needed to be successful. Sometimes she would flat out tell me “No” when I requested something of her and then did what was really in my best interest. Almost every time she did this, I was grateful that she didn’t heed my request. It was clear to me that she was 110% in my corner. I knew I had an attorney who would fight to the death (metaphorically speaking) for my parental rights as the Father of an angel. Then I had the opportunity to see her perform in the courtroom during Trial. My instructions to her were to go into the courtroom to ‘kill, take no prisoners, and leave none alive.’ It was awestriking to watch her genius at work. She was professional and followed courtroom etiquette and all, but underneath her elegance, grace, sophistication, and professionalism she was clearly out for blood. She wasn’t just a fish in water, she was a great white shark fighting an onslaught of barracudas. She was a honey badger battling a cobra. SHE WON!! My ex-wife didn’t get away with her lies or falsified evidence. I did not have to pay alimony. Most importantly, I got my baby girl back. I will be eternally grateful to Aarti for the rest of my life, and I will definitely be a client of hers for the rest of my life. FATHERS: The attorney you hire DOES MATTER!! After 2 1/2 years of wading through the murky waters of my very messy divorce and resulting contempt case (against my Ex), final rulings have come down. The court did rule in my favor... all due to Angela's vast skills, focus, and persistence. I whole-heartedly recommend Angela and her team. Prior to hiring Wilson-Goodman Law Group to assist with my child custody case, I had a total of 15 consultations with attorneys from all over the valley. I felt confident with my decision to move forward with their law firm and attorney, Tiffany Scott, for many reasons. The #1 reason was because I felt she was the most genuine and transparent about my options and possible outcomes, while others pretended they could guarantee the outcomes I wanted, which you find out very quickly into a family law case that it is not possible. At every stage of the process, Tiffany took the time to provide me with every possible scenario so that I could make the decision I felt was best for myself and my son. It was critical to me to always have a realistic picture of what I was getting into and what it meant for my son's future relationship with me and with his father. Another reason I appreciate working with Tiffany so much is because she immediately provided tips on how to save money on unnecessary attorney costs, such as minimizing emails and phone call costs by asking as many questions as possible at once. As a single mother, saving costs was very important to me and other attorneys I had consultations with suggested to immediately pursue temporary orders, which ultimately would have been a costly and unnecessary step in my case. Additionally, there were not any minimum hours billed for physical court appearances while one attorney I spoke with charged a minimum of 3 hours for court appearances. A 3rd reason I loved working with Tiffany is because of her timely response to my emails and phone calls; and her clear, detailed and effective communication, which I felt ultimately saved me costs by minimizing back and forth emails or calls. I also want to mention that from the start, Angela Wilson-Goodman and the firm's paralegals and administrative staff have all been very kind to work with and timely in responding to my questions. I could go on for a few more paragraphs on why I will undoubtedly hire Wilson-Goodman Law Group again and refer the law firm to anyone looking for a family law attorney.
