Scott Potter is truly the best attorney I could have asked for. I needed an attorney to represent my interest in a property I inherited as an out of state owner. I owned 67% of the property and wanted to sell, but the 33% owner who occupied the property did not want to. Scott told us from the beginning that I had every right to sell but it might require taking the other owner to court, which would take an unknown amount time and money. Over the course of several months working with opposing counsel I was able to avoid litigation and come to a resolution that was amicable for both parties. Scott's understanding of the law and my rights was the catalyst for this agreement. Scott kept me informed of all progress throughout the negotiations and monitored the sale of the property through closing. I have to say Scott Potter was a blessing to find. I had a very nasty situation with my landlord where they were attempting to pressure me into signing a document that would have waived many of my rights as a tenant in the state. It was a very stressful time since I was forced to move out of my apartment due to an external disaster and my landlord not only did nothing to help, but also added extra layers of stress by both locking me out of my apartment without notice and refusing to communicate with me directly - only though lawyers. They also tried charging me rent for the following month. It was a very stressful time. Scott was the only lawyer of 5 that I tried that I could even reach without filling out having to fill out pages of questionnaires and then waiting another couple days to a return message to *maybe* set up a time (IF they were even available or handled the area of law I was looking for). He was the first compassionate person I talked to after I was essentially evicted through no fault of my own. His advice as top notch and thanks to him I was able to successfully navigate a very treacherous situation and come out with the extra rent dropped, my contract terminated without fault, and without having to waive my rights to even speak publicly about the event. I am forever grateful for his help in what was a very dark time.
