Mrs. Cotto's legal practice and methods are From my experience are less than ethical. She is not board certified in any discipline of the Law. A Board Certified Specialists are lawyers who have been recognized by the State Bar as demonstrating superior knowledge,skill, integrity, professionalism and competence in a specific area of law. Mrs, Cotto has had a career all over the board as a public defender and now family law. Mrs. Cotto is not from the United States and is completely unaware of how our sophisticated culture works. In my experience she is more likely to try and drive up client billable hours as supposed to attempt to reach amicable solutions. In my experience Mrs. Cotto employed bulling tactics and will attempt to intimidate and push you around. It's almost comical. She dose not speak English as a first language. The problem is if you have children, Mrs. Cotto's tactics in the long run created incredible duress on all parties involved. The out come will be less than desirable when it's all over and she is paid. If you want your spouse to suffer and allow the process to destroy any hopes of an amicable relationship and eliminate any hopes to create a healthy environment for the future of your children then Mrs. Cotto is your attorney. My experience with Mrs. Cotto's clients is they do not abide by court orders and injunctions. I though attorneys were suppose to uphold the integrity of the courts and the orders they hand down? '

Sylvina was well recommended and performed up to these recommentations. She was descreet and always kept my best interest in mind. She kept me well informed and thoroughly investigated all avenues which enabled me to make the best choices. Her assistance enabled me to make it through my divorce with dignity. She was very professional, courteous, and innovative. Her hard work allowed me to concentrate on what I needed to, and put comfort at her efforts. Her office staff, Kim, also was very professional. When approaching my divorce I researched, and then interviewed 3 lawyers. I selected Sylvina Cotto based on her professional style and experience in the court system. Sylvina and her staff were always responsive and timely. Ms.Cotto was knowledge and guidance helped me make good decisions with regard to my divorce. I had a very complicated and unexpected divorce after being married for 25 years and having just retired after 29 years of service with a great company. Ms. Cotto helped me convince the court that I was a financially responsible father and spouse which helped me protect key assests, minimize my spousal maintenance support and still provide support to the children I adore (even though they were all over 18 yrs of age). Ms. Cotto's knowledge of the law, legal system and her tenacity to keep her/our eye on our objectives provided a winning system which in the end resulted in a better than expected outcome for me and my family!

Though chances of a successful appeal seemed remote.,she did excellent legal research of pertinent case law on my behalf. Her memorandum was well written and convinced the AZ Superior Court to overturn a Phoenix Municipal Court's upholding of a harassment injunction against me.

This was the first time that we had any dealings with the court system and tried to handle it on our own, what a mess. I do not reside in the Scottsdale area and did not know which way to turn, but knew we needed help. Mrs. Cotto came very highly recommended from another attorney who does not even live in the Scottsdale area. From our very first phone conversation we were confident that she had our best interest at heart and would do her best to assist us in this legal matter. Mrs. Cotto's empathy, knowledge and professionalism were such a comfort to both my son and I. She looked at this situation not only as an attorney but also as mother; she put our mind at ease knowing that she understood not only my sons position but mine also.
