My husband and I came to Kanu and associates back in 2018 for representation and legal advise. At first they were very kind and responsive and even made arrangements for us to split the fees into a payment arrangement. As soon as we finished paying them their money the quality of service went down significantly! For 2 years anytime we needed to get in touch with them via phone we could never reach them. We were told they would contact us within 3 business days and never heard back unless we sent multiple emails or stopped by the office to speak to someone in person. In addition to not getting in touch with them something that they never mentioned to you during the consultation is that receptionist will be working on your paperwork and putting your file together NOT the actual lawyer. During the course of 2 years there have been 5 different receptionist that have been in our file with sensitive information! Not to mention during a few of appointments we would show up and our file would be in an unsecured area sometimes. It is extremely frustrating to know that we paid over $3000 for these people to not really do anything. When it came time to send our case to the Uscis, according to our attorney she claimed that she would be working on file and assured us everything would be prepared and sent out to the uscis. About a month later we receive a notice from the uscis she sent our file in with missing information! Of course I should’ve figured things would be unorganized after having all the amateur receptionists working on it. Once again we called because we had questions about it and for a whole month they never responded, leaving my husband and I to figure things out on our own and submitting the missing information on our own. They finally followed up with us on the date when everything was supposed to be submitted luckily we had already turned it what the uscis needed. Just imagine if we would’ve waiting on Kanu and associates to resubmit the documents, the USCIS would’ve never received it! That should’ve been a red flag to stop working with these scammers. So fast forward a year after covid we finally get an interview with Immigration. Our attorney called us into the office a week prior before our interview to make sure they had what they needed for us to be successful in our interview. During the brief appointment that lasted less than 15 minutes out attorney skimmed over our file asked my husband and I couple of questions and told us we were good and assured us our file looked great. A week later we finally have our interview, 2 hours prior to our interview our lawyer gives us a call and asks if she can attend our interview over the phone. At this point my husband and I don’t trust her over the phone since it’s been 2 years of barely being able to reach over the phone in the first place! We requested that she attended in person, and she reluctantly agreed after giving us some pushback. We get to the interview and she showed up 15 minutes after our scheduled interview, granted the immigration officer was running a little behind schedule with a prior interview but I still thought that was unprofessional. Then as we are awaiting to go back into our interview, our attorney didn’t even take the time to go over any last minute questions or concerns we may have had and decided to take a personal call. I’m sure you can only imagine the anger going through my body knowing after 2 years she can never take my calls even though I paid her to do a job, but can easily answer personal calls and talk about a damn dog that has nothing to do with our case! We finally do our interview and we were unable to gain a change of status because you guessed it we were missing additional documentation! After our interview our attorney was appalled at the fact we were missing certain information and questioned why we didn’t have it. At that point I felt completed defeated because after 2 years of working with Kanu and associates it became very clear that these people only care about money. We hired a new attorney to get everything done!

Mr. Kanu is friendly and professional and shows genuine interest in my case. So far, I’m satisfied with this law firm.

Mr. Kanu is a very unprofessional lawyer who doesn’t care about his clients and most importantly doesn’t care about his own employees. I would highly recommend not coming here unless you want to have terrible experience. Please find somewhere else who will actually help you!

Absolutely best lawyer. He did everything that he can to be successful in my case. My case took almost 5 years. I moved out of state. He came to a different state to represent me to the uscis. I hired Kanu and Associates 4 years ago to help me with my adjustment of status. I ran into trouble during my younger years, 14 arrests and multiple misdemeanors. My case was a difficult case to win.
