Good reviews, as long as you're paying. He doesn't even keep in touch with my daughter. When he does talk with her, he doesn't remember the details.

Mr. Jocquese Blackwell, is an outstanding attorney, who believes in the law and its intent. He is a pugilist, who is not judgmental, will listen to his clients and advise them wisely. Also, to show that regardless of how messed up your case is, even if previous counsel was not effective, if you are innocent, Mr. Blackwell can take a complex mess and turn it around.
Mr. Blackwell has a “down to earth” approach and will be honest with his clients to work for their best interests. My advice to prospective client is to be 100% honest with Mr. Blackwell, because he can not defend you, if he is blindsided by any facts you knew but did not tell him about.
Once he is your advocate, you can expect Mr. Blackwell to be dedicated, hardworking, organized, up to date on the law, technology and how to conduct himself in a courtroom. He was professional with all the parties involved and was respectful but unwavering when speaking with judges and prosecutors, in his effort to defend me. Mr. Blackwell genuinely cared about me and my case. He got an investigator to work with us and although it was not necessary, our investigator (a retired law enforcement officer) was ready and eager to testify on my behalf.
Despite all the antics on the part of the police officers and prosecutors involved, Mr. Blackwell displayed a measured temperament with a perceptive, sharp mind to catch all the little lies that were told to the jury by my accusers and he pointed out the absurdity of those lies, which obviously influenced the jury in our favor.
As a Veteran of the U.S. Army, he swore an oath to defend the United States Constitution, and he seems to adopt the ideology that his oath never expired, and as a criminal defense attorney, he is doing just as much to defend our Constitution and our laws, now as he did in the military. He makes an unparalleled amount of sacrifice, working on weekends / holidays with his clients, if the need arises.
Mr. Jocquese Blackwell is a true client’s attorney, not one of the many who refuse to fight for you against an apathetic system, because Mr. Blackwell will not “go along, to get along” just to appease his opposition. Mr. Blackwell operates in a principled manner, with a passion that only a dedicated family man could do, defending our nations laws, because he knows our future generations will inherit what we leave behind. Mr. Blackwell carries himself in a courtroom with humble confidence and a decorum, rarely seen today.
If my memory serves me correctly, it was Benjamin Franklin, one of our founding fathers, who said “For it is better for ten guilty men to go free, than for one innocent man to suffer.” Something obviously lost in the quagmire of our courts, law enforcement, and prosecutors currently in Maricopa County, but a principle that Mr. Blackwell obviously incorporates into his legal practice for his clients.
I hope to never need his services again, this was the first time I have ever needed a criminal defense attorney, but should the need arise, I have and will keep, Mr. Jocquese Blackwell on speed-dial, on my cell phone and so should you.

I was harassed and threatened by bullies, so I defended myself with pepper spray. The police charged me with assault and threat since there weren't independent witnesses to the incident. So I hired lawyer Mr. Jocquese L. Blackwell to defend me at the Phoenix Municipal Court. He stated that I had a solid case with a high chance of winning. He made many promises to me including conducting a full investigation on the bullies, the arresting officers, and the police reports, but almost none of his promises were kept. As a matter of fact, he didn't even bother with information I tried to give him which demonstrated that I was the real victim in this case.
After taking his fees first, he went to trial with very little preparation, asking trivial questions, and not making any convincing arguments to prove my side. The result was a full conviction on all false charges made by the police and the prosecutor.
And if that wasn't bad enough, Mr. Blackwell still made another lie after the trial that he can overturn my conviction, and all I had to do was to remind him to file after six months. But after six months of waiting, and a few more chasing after him to fulfill his latest promise, I discovered on my own that Arizona had no such procedure. Instead, it had another procedure called 'setting aside a conviction' for closed cases, which doesn't overturn a conviction, but merely allows ignoring a conviction from employment check. But I found out that my case didn't even qualify for that since I had a three years probation and that made my case open. Mr. Blackwell, an experienced lawyer, knows such basic laws and procedures, yet he lied to me anyways.

When we discussed my case he was assuring that my ticket can get dismissed and that we had a good case. I was skeptical but he was very trustworthy. On the court date I was so nervous but he was calm and collective. He proved there was no evidence for the ticket and was able to get it dismissed, I appreciate him and Gil.

On December 5, 2014, I was pulled over because one of my headlights was out. The police officer pulled me over in the parking lot of a smoke shop. I was actually going there to pick up some cigarettes. The police officer informed me that he noticed that my headlight was out, my windshield was cracked, and my registration had recently expired. I informed the officer that I knew those issues needed to be addressed. The officer asked me if I had anything to drink and I said no, however, I do have a interlock device and my car would not start if I had alcohol in my system. The cop then asked me if I had used any illegal drugs, I said no but, I did have a medical marijuana card and I had smoked some marijuana around 12:00 pm. The officer asked me to step out of the car. I stepped out and provided the officer my marijuana card. He then asked me to step to the back of his car. While back there, he shinned a light in my eyes. I later found out he was trying to see if I was impaired by alcohol. Then he asked me to perform what he called field sobriety tests. I told him that I couldn't perform any physical tests, because my back was hurt during a car wreck and that's why I had the marijuana card. He then said that he wanted to draw my blood. I told him I did not have a problem with a blood draw. I knew I wasn't impaired, I had a marijuana card and I should be ok. Little did I know, that I would be charged with driving under the influence because I had marijuana in my system. Almost a year later, I was summoned to court for two counts of Aggravated DUI. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office charged me with two class 4 felonies for driving with marijuana metabolites in my system at the time I was ordered to have an ignition interlock device in my car. I was totally terrified. Felonies are bad and I did not want to go to jail. I immediately tried to find an attorney to help me with my case. I went to someone who said they specialize in Pot cases, but he would not take my case at the time because I did not have the entire police report that contained my levels of marijuana. I read a blog written by Attorney Jocquese L. Blackwell that talked about marijuana cases in Arizona and how they help clients with cases like the one I had. I called them and they stated they would love to represent me and would not have any issue in obtaining my blood results. After they obtained my results, they informed me that as long as I could prove that I was not impaired by the marijuana in my system when I was with the officer, then I should be able to win my case. They filed every motion imaginable for my case. On November 28, 2016, the trial started by selecting a jury. Jocquese and Gill did an excellent job in obtaining a group of people on the jury that understood what was at stake. Jocquese and Gill stood up for me in front of the judge and the prosecutor and never backed down as it pertained to my rights to a fair trial. Jocquese and Gill had an excellent understanding of the law and was able to prove their understanding to the judge, prosecutor and the jury. The trial finished on December 1, 2016. The jury was out for 30 minutes and returned a Not Guilty Verdict on all counts. If you are ever charged with a Marijuana DUI, you must call Jocquese and Gill, they will have your back. They certainly had mine and I am forever thankful to be able to walk with my head held high. No one with a valid medical marijuana card should be charged with a DUI. If you are, be sure to call Blackwell Law Office they will get you out of any jam you may find yourself in.

Jocquese Blackwell is an awesome lawyer and I am so glad that my wife read a good review about him and chose him to be my lawyer. He was always professional and understood my story from the very first day. Not only did he represent me, but he also represented my co-defendant (friend) PRO BONO and got her charges dismissed. That was a crucial part to my case, and the fact that we was willing to help myself and my friend in this very tough situation shows a lot about his character. He backed me up the entire time and also dealt with my dramatic moments with grace. When myself and my family saw him in action, we were blown away. He came prepared and truly owned the courtroom. He got the judge to empathize with my situation and his cross examinations were fierce and on-point. I am so glad that Jocquese decided to take on my case and fight for what is right. The truth. Sometimes the truth isn't enough, but he made sure he left an impression on our judge. He told me he had a good feeling we could win because all we had to do was tell the truth. We did and we won. I am at home happy with my family and friends now and am so grateful for Mr. Blackwell and his team at Blackwell Law. Justice was served in Arizona today, thanks again Joc.

I got charged with an extreme DUI in Feb 2016. I had had lost all hope and was in danger of losing my career before I went for a legal consult with Mr. Blackwell. He gave me full confidence within 15 mins of meeting him that I would be able to fight the case. Without question him and his staff go beyond what's expected of a client. My outcome of my case was pleaed out in my favor. I received a wreck less driving charge and was able to due more community service and most importantly salvage my career. Most prosecutors will work with him because of his professionalism and expertise in DUIs. I highly recommend him to anyone and military as well. He will also work with you in payment plans as well. You are getting the best law practice in AZ and perhaps the Southwesth when you hire his team.

Mr Blackwell and his team of professionals are the best you can find if you are ever in a poposit that an attorney is necessary. He is caring, understanding, honest, ethical, sincere, a great communicator when handling your case. His knowledge of the law and advice is what won the case against me. You need to trust this man as he has your best interest in mind. I was looking at deportation ( I have been in this country for 50 years but never became a citizen ) and I got a call from him yesterday saying that we won. I must say he is the one that made it happen. Now I can move on with my life in a productive manner and will become a citizen. He will respect you he will listen to you and give you the best advice possible and he does know what he is doing... I will refer him to family friends and anybody that needs an attorney as he is the best...
