I can't say enough about Mr. BARBER. He took my case from beginning to end and all the aggravation in between. Was upfront with everything, never made any promises. I retained Attorney Barber's services to assist me with a good-cause exception for a fingerprint clearance card through the AZ Board of Fingerprinting. While I was ultimately denied a good-cause exception, it was not for lack of effort or legal skills of Mr. Barber. He took time to get to know me and understand the complexities of my case. He represented me in filing the initial paperwork to the Board, representing me at the administrative hearing, and filing a reply to the Administrative Law Judge's recommendation. At each stage of the process, Bretton was willing to help and put forth a really good effort to try to get my good-cause exception approved. Unfortunately, I believe Mr. Barber was correct in his assessment of the law as it applied to my case in that the Board should have granted my petition, but we don't live in a perfect world. I think my experience may signal the need for the legislature to take a closer look at which misdemeanor offenses should even be included on the statutory denial list and draft legislation that is fair to petitioners so simple misdemeanors cannot be grounds for denial in the first place. Based on my experience with Bretton Barber, I would not hesitate to recommend him to individuals facing situations that require good-cause exceptions or any other matters related to fingerprint clearance cards. I was looking to have my Aggrivated Assault Felony set aside as well as have my 2nd Amendment rights restored from a charge that I had in 2003. I was finding it difficult to find good employment and I was also not able to protect my family and myself by being able to use my right to bear arms. Bretton Barber met all of my expectations! I highly recommend him to anyone needing help. I received a denial letter for my finger print clearance card and he was able to have that card in my mailbox only weeks later. Where do I even start? Anybody looking to expunge, set-aside, or even just a criminal defense lawyer, I would highly recommend Bretton. I came to him in March 2017 for help with expunging or setting-aside an old case from 17 years ago. Bretton took the time to go over everything with me, what my options were, and then filed the motion. Flash forward 3 months later --> The motion was denied, that was the first attempt. Bretton filed another motion shortly after and that motion was once again denied! Now its September 2017, Bretton goes and files another motion, this time he even goes to clerk and makes sure that it is properly reviewed. Months go by, no reply. Bretton calls the Judges admin, she puts the case on the Judges desk for review, and what do you know! This time the case was fully expunged, deleted, GONE. Forever. Not just set-aside but fully expunged. This guy knows what he is doing. I can't say enough about this guy and what he has done for me. If you need an attorney that will fight for you, this is the guy!
