I called several lawyers and I needed my questions answered. But they would not answer me in plain easy-to-understand English. I had three lawyers who wanted to take my case. I could not get them to answer my questions. They kept giving me mumbo-jumbo. My mother unexpectedly died in my arms of a heart attack in April 2022. I was disabled and had not worked in thirty years. I lived with my mom for 57 years. She was divorced and I never married. We were each other's caregivers. She was my best friend. I was frozen with terror as there was no money to take care of myself. I had to sell things I owned and received a loan from a family member. I then received financial aid from D.E.S. programs to help pay my utility bills. This whole time I was stuck for three months feeling very uncomfortable about these other lawyers who gave me disinformation and kept me confused. But they kept sending letters pressuring me to sign their contracts. They treated me like a number instead of a real person who was in extreme grief over losing my mom. So I continued looking for a lawyer and thank you God for letting me see and find Kathryn Dicus. When I called her she answered my legal questions quickly and understandably and I told her that she was the one I wanted to represent me. She was easygoing to talk to. Kathryn is amazing in what she does. I suffer from Dystonia one of those awful invisible illness that most of doctors never hard of. After 2 years with another company, I found Kathryn Dicus on Avvo and scheduled a consultation tham hired her. The process takes time, the first judge already had made up his mind on mot approve my case so she complained about that judge and they assigned me to another judge. The new judge granted me partial disability award on a illness that has no cure. So I got some back pay for 2015, 2016 and 2017. So Kathryn appealed my case to the Federal court and they reversed the state parcial award and granted me total disability on November 2020. I finally got the rest of the back pay, monthly payment and Medicare insurance. It took Kathryn over 7 years but she worked hard on my case with professionalism and patience. If you need a disability attorney, you would be crazy not to hire Kathryn Dicus.

Kathryn was the only attorney we found that would handle the case from the very beginning. She filed the initial application for SSA so SSA could have everything they needed from the get go. She walks you through what needs to be done and what is happening. She is knowledgeable and responds to your calls and emails. Yes, you actually get to talk to the attorney! I would recommend her to everyone needing a disability attorney.

Katheryn took my case to the end... She had to withdraw from my case. MY FAULT. I do believe if she would've of been able to get in front of the judge my case would've been WON. Hire her from the beginning and save a lot of time. If i would've hired her from the start my case would've been WON long ago.

I have terminal cancer, and even with this diagnosis another disability attorney completely botched my case. I was consequently denied disability and headed straight for a hearing in a year or so. I am a person who doesn’t really do reviews but I felt that I just had to give a review on Ms Dicus. I was not actually her client my daughter was and I have been through the process before so I asked if I could talk to Ms Dicus which she totally agreed to and I believe she went above and beyond keeping me in the loop of what was going on throughout this crazy process. I would say so far I have talked to her 5-6 times and she walked me through where she was at and never rushed me answered everything. When I was the client I only talked to my lawyer a couple of times and kept being told wait till your hearing and we will talk then. I would and have highly recommend her as your lawyer.

Kathryn is patient and took my unusual circumstances with no fear! My father was very involved with my case. She took the time to speak with him. She made me comfortable by letting me know all of the steps at all times. In court she was AMAZING! I would refer Kathryn to family and friend. My father was so impressed he forwarded her information to his pain management group!
