As a family who already saw what it was like to lose over 80% of an inheritance because the legal steps were not taken to protect them, we should never have taken as long as we did to get our affairs in order. Karen's firm is the firm that lawyers go to when they finally realize they should not be putting this off any longer. In our case, it was something we had put off for decades even though we knew it was such an important step towards handling our affairs that needed to be done. Like so many things, I couldn't do them myself and I kept putting it on the back burner, even though I knew it was important to my family in so many ways. When we were sitting in the waiting area that day and again, after we left from the signing event (it was a significant process), all my husband kept saying was how this (finally) was taking a huge burden off of his shoulders. That day and those words would never have happened if Karen Richman and her staff had not nagged us to get it done! Particularly when they were so prompt at getting our draft and final documents to us after our initial contact. As an attorney, I cannot begin to thank you for taking our estate "on," as I know it was not a simple one and that it was a challenge you didn't really have to take, but you did, without so much as a second thought. We both know we made the right choice trusting you with this very important life decision. We were energized after the signing and started working on the tasks you outlined and went over in detail with us immediately! We will both, undoubtedly, continue to be thankful but feel indebted to you for your time and the incredible work you put into our estate plan.
