Matt is the BEST thing that ever happened to our family. We were referred to Matt by a friend of ours after we had told her how displeased we were with our previous lawyer. I feel like we came to Matt with a hot mess of a situation, but that never seemed to phase him. Matt is attentive, professional, responsive, thorough, honest and a total badass in the court room. He is incredibly fast when it comes to communication and that made things a lot easier on us when we were wanting answers/explanations quickly. Although most things are via video conference right now, watching Matt in front of the judge was amazing and I am sure it would have been even better in an in person setting. To say we are thankful for Matt is an understatement. Hiring him as our attorney was the best decision we ever made. Even if we hadn't won our family case, we knew he did absolutely everything in his power to help us. Of course in the end we did come out on top, but even if we didn't we still were so very pleased with his legal services. Do not believe anything that I wrote. We found out the hard way that this attorney does not keep his word. And he stinks as an attorney. He doesn't do what the client wants or needs. My review was done prematurely. Right after we retained him. Do yourself a favor and find an attorney that doesn't double as an ambulance chaser. Matt is the best investment we ever made. My sons ex wouldn't even tell him that his daughter had been born, or if she was dead or alive. As soon as we found out she had been born, Matt wasted no time serving her with papers. He came highly recommended and I can see why. He won't make you break the bank to pay for his services. He's intelligent, caring, professional, a great attorney and wonderful father. I have pestered him with MANY emails and questions. He is always kind and compassionate. And never complains about my simple, sometimes trivial questions. He's a top notch lawyer and person. I would, and have, recommended him to others. I know with his bulldog attitude in court, we will have no problem getting everything we want for visitation. I just can't express enough just what Matt means to us. Very soon my son will get to be the wonderful father he is. And we will finally get to be the loving and caring grandparents that we are meant to be. I can't thank Matt enough for all he has done and is doing for us.

Over the last 8 months Matt has represented me in my Family Law case. From the beginning Matt was up-front and honest with me about everything and answered every question I had. He was fair in how he treated me, and worked hard in and out of the court room to get the best results possible. Matt is transparent straight out the gate with what to expect, the good and the bad. There’s no surprises. He worked hard for us and was extremely responsive. If and when we, or someone we know, needs a lawyer in the future we will without a doubt use him again!

Matthew Schultz' attention to detail on my case was second to none. He thoroughly explained the process every step of the way, and was very responsive to all my inquiries, no matter how trivial. He researched diligently to ensure that the best interests of my minor children were priority number one. He has an ability to present facts in a manner which allows them to be clearly heard in the courtroom and a gift for knowing when to be aggressive and when to back off. I truly could not be happier with his representation in my most recent case. My case is a very sensitive one, and Mr. Schultz made it look easy. Was truly there for me during a difficult custody battle.

Warning... do not use this guy!!! If I could give a zero star review I would. My next step is filing a complaint with the Stare Bar of Arizona. This has been the absolute worst experience working with Matthew Schultz. Once he received my retainer he gave my case little to no attention and treated me terribly every time we met or talked over the phone. I felt stuck because he had my money and regretted using him after the first few weeks. He has messed up on just about every aspect of my case and instead of explaining why things turned out the way they have he has made up lies to explain them away. It takes multiple emails asking the same questions to get a response and his responses are one word responses and I am lucky to get a complete sentence reply. He has never once returned my call and to get him on the phone you have to call him over and over sometimes for days at a time. He is the most arrogant person I have ever met and has little to no respect for anything or anyone. When he found out my ex and I were Mormons he said "you know that's a cult right" In a harsh tone, and has referred to our religion as a cult on multiple occasion in a disrespectful way. I have had to ask him to please stop talking to me the way he does on several occasions after being personally insulted about my weight and other personal items and including getting emotional about loosing time with my daughter because of his lack of reading emails before responding to the other lawyer. Details of the case: The three things he told me he couple help me with during our first meeting were 1) dividing of assets, 2) child support calculations, and 3) parenting time. All three things he completely messed up on and just agreed to my ex's lawyers request even after Matt and I discussed otherwise. 1. He gave her 100% of several joint assets including a paid off car and piano even though we discussed these on several occasion as to why they should be joint 2. He admittedly gave her almost $100 extra in child support each month so I am paying almost $700 for one child even though the calculator shows it should be less. His answer is we can fight this in court afterwards if I want. And of course this will cost more money to do so. 3. He agreed with the other attorney to cut my parenting time in half and when I asked why he would do this he had no clue what I was talking about. I had to show him in the paperwork that the other attorney had changed the parenting time and cut my time in half but it was to late. Matt had already replied to the other attorney agreeing to the paperwork without even reading it. He gave away half of my time with my daughter and has yet to give me an answer as how it could happen or even apologize for his error. Worst of the worst! Run from this guy!

Great family law attorney. Matt helped me multiple times about 8-9 years ago. I subsequently went to him for follow-up help. Matt never took a dime he didn’t earn and at points assisted me free of cost. Definitely owe Matt an eternity of gratitude.

Matthew Schultz is a rare lawyer. My case was a disaster until Matt took over. Now I have full custody of my daughter. Matt is very qualified. Very aggressive. And actually cares about helping people and fighting for what is right. I 150% highly recommend Matt. Do not waste your money on other lawyer's. You will only wind up throwing your money away. I have nothing but great things to say about Matt. Matt is a surgeon in the courtroom. Aggressive and deadly accurate and unparalleled experience and integrity. If you love your children. Retain Matt. End of story.
