This review is a year old but does not appear to be publicly accessible: Five years ago my finances fell apart following a divorce. While the smart move in hindsight move would have been to file for bankruptcy right away, I tried to hold it together. Ironically, I couldn't afford it by the time I got desperate, so when I finally discovered that there were in fact attorneys like Ms. Quach that allowed me to use a payment plan for legal fees I was relatively happy, all things considered. Here's what I got as a fairly typical middle class guy. While I did have a brief phone conversation at the beginning, it was apparently the case that I was supposed to anticipate the ramifications in advance better than the supposed legal expert. I had done a LOT of investigation on the topic but I had no idea how badly it could turn out. And because of my expedited filling I still had to shell out an extra $500 for this rushed avoidance of preventing foreclosure on my house which gained me absolutely nothing in the end. When all was said and done I got none of my equity in the home applied toward anything. While I had the impression that the IRS and state taxes would get priority claims, something went completely haywire that I must be too stupid to understand. Five years later I'm hopelessly held back by federal tax debts and an state tax garnishment eating up 25% of my pay. I got zero dollars out of everything I paid toward the home that I gave away in foreclosure. And I was never eligible for a dime of unemployment during covid lockdowns to make it even more interesting. When I finally contacted Ms. Quach six months later to understand why the state still sent bills for thousands of dollars I was shrugged off as a pathetic fool for not understanding the nuances of bankruptcy law, too obvious to be explained to a mere plebian like me. I would think twice about going the bargain route again. Her time is too valuable. Maybe I'm just a clueless math and sciences guy but I never really got answers I thought I paid for.
