I was hit by a car while loading groceries into my car and in an instant I thought if I was going to die..... so, if you, like me have had a life changing accident and you want someone who is knowledgable, caring, and willing to work hard just for you, I can tell you you are on the right page and reading about the right law firm. The attorneys I worked with were Dave and Matt. But their legal assistant Elizabeth was fantastic too. Because they were on top of all the legal issues it allowed me to take care of the things that only I could do and that was to heal. I am writing this review to show my gratitude for the work that Matt Schmidt and his phenomenal team did representing my daughter. When we started this process, my daughter was about to start second grade. Matt and his team were nothing but respectful and accommodating of her age, and went out of the way to make her feel comfortable. Each step of the way, Matt and his paralegal Elizabeth kept us updated and prepared for next steps. Matt spent time getting to know us and used that knowledge to provide us with counsel based on our needs and family situation. He is down to earth, was patient as we asked every question imaginable, and genuinely made me feel like things were going to be OK. Ultimately, I hope that no one ever has to experience the trauma of an injury to their child (in our case a dog bite to my child’s face) but in the event that you do, I cannot recommend this team more.

On June 19, 2021, I was competing in the AZ Road Bike State Championships in Show Low, AZ. Minutes after the race had started, a large truck plowed/t-boned the group that consisted of approximately 450-600 cyclists. Myself and some 14-16 cyclists were injured. Myself and the cyclist next to me were air lifted to Flagstaff Medical Center. He passed away from the injuries three weeks later. I endured eight surgeries and over a year of physical therapy. My surgeon told me that if not for my peak physical condition, I may have passed away too. We eventually had the good fortune of getting to be acquainted with Dev Sethi of Schmidt, Sethi and Akmajian, Tucson, AZ. We found Dev to be very down- to -earth and personable. Not only is Dev very straightforward and honest but I believe that his most admirable quality is his compassion. He was very thorough, he explained the litigation procedure, timeline, and the possible outcome of the final judgement. In the end, Dev went way above and beyond his responsibility and duty in litigating for our justice. He surprised us one day and delivered a substantial compensation to us that only he could have made happen . I think about what he did for us almost everyday and I thank Goodness that he somehow was sent to us. I will forever be grateful to Dev.

In the lives of most Americans, we do not have a lawyer on retainer and we hope we’ll never need the services of a lawyer. But sometimes life goes wrong. In our case, an object was left in my husband’s body after a medical procedure. We actually were referred to the firm of Schmidt, Sethi and Akmajian. After filling out a form online, Dev Sethi called within an hour and made an appointment to come to our home that afternoon. While Dev has continued to be “our” lawyer, the entire firm (clerks, paralegals, and partners) all played a part and when we would call with questions, they knew who we were and would immediately go to work to get us answers. That support has meant so much, especially since we hit the pandemic, court shutdowns, and many delays. Our case finally settled after three and one half years, but an issue has come up that they are continuing to monitor, help resolve and they continue to keep us updated. We could not be happier that we found Dev and the entire firm and would recommend them to anyone finding themselves in need.
