I wouldn't recommend this Law Firm to my worst enemy. Doug does not pay any mind to individual cases like he claims. He is rude and his temper will flare if you ask him questions that he doesn't feel like taking the time to answer. You're better off giving your money to a charity than these guys. The service I received was comparable to a public defender and that's being nice. Spend the extra money and go with Ledbetter.

My son was arrested for Marijuana, Methamphetamine/Cocaine and Drug Paraphernalia. Everything was supposedly sent to the "Lab" for testing. However, apparently nothing actually was tested because my son had no meth or cocaine but he found out, after 2 1/2 months in Drug Court, that the charges against him do include Meth/Cocaine . Tom Marks, attorney with Norwood and Norwood, talked my 19 year old son into accepting Drug Court without ever informing him of the charges against him. The paperwork from the court states Marijuana and Paraphernalia only. So now Drug Court is treating him as though he is a meth addict. Tom told my son that Drug Court was the only way to go, that it would be easy, especially for my son because he has been clean since his arrest (almost a year). Wrong! Tom knew NOTHING about Drug Court! My son has to call in very day, 7 days a week, to find out if he has a drug test that day. He has 3 morning meetings every week. He has to attend 3 NA meetings every week and he has to perform community service (60 hrs over the 15 month program). He missed 1 call-in in his 2nd month and was sentenced to 48 hrs in jail. He is the youngest person in Drug Court. He is doing all this and attending college full-time. Now, he had the choice to take Probation which was 10 days in jail with 2 yrs of probation with expungement upon completion, and he would have been drug tested 1 time per month. Which option do you think Tom should have pushed for? He did my son a great disservice! He did not earn the $5000.00 that Norwood and Norwood was paid to help him in this situation. And by the way, my son has attempted 6-7 times to contact Tom for an appointment and Tom has completely failed to contact him, and his office tells him that Tom is the only one that can schedule his appointments. Shame on all of you for taking advantage of a 19 year old and being completely incompetent in your representation!!
