We were very unhappy with the way our case was handled just before our mediation. I my opinion, we lost our case because one of the partners decided at the last minute to represent us in our opening statement at mediation, instead of the lawyer we had been working with for six months. The partner didn't even mention anything about our issue with the HOA during the entire mediation. He just read the law from his notes as if he was intentionally trying to lose our case and run down the clock. We were stunned. Not sure what was going on, but they said the HOA wasn't planning to work with us anyway, so that was that. They asked for their last check and we were left wondering what in the world just happened. No wonder the HOA wouldn't work with us, our lawyers didn't even challenge them. I would never recommend this firm to represent you against your HOA.

HOA's can be a major pain in the butt. But the staff at MBK CHAPMAN PC got my HOA off my butt, and actually won my case against them. They not only won my case, but actually got me a settlement and a settlement agreement which is very rare, but they got it done for me. MBK CHAPMAN PC should be your first and only choice when dealing with a pesty HOA. I highly recommend them to you.

I interviewed a number of HOA attorneys before our group chose Michael Kushner and Jason Boss, of MBK Chapman PC, to advise us with regard to significant concerns about our HOA. As an attorney myself, I reviewed these lawyers very carefully, knowing that many of my fellow homeowners were depending on me to find a lawfirm with the qualifications and experience to provide the specialized HOA info we desperately needed, while billing reasonably for the time spent. Over the few months we needed their help (through some of the most challenging issues any of us could remember), Michael and Jason were always there for us, and always managed to get us the info we needed in the quickest, least costly manner. I regularly review other lawyers' billing statements, and knew that there were a few homeowners in who were also attorneys, so I was glad that I never had an objection to any of the billing entries through the conclusion of the matter, and could share them with others with confidence if necessary. If I needed any sort of legal assistance with regard to an HOA, I would use Michael, Jason and MBK Chapman without a moment's hesitation, or looking elsewhere. Horrible crooks. Filing Malpractice and California Bar Formal Complaints against this horrible firm. Don’t even think about retaining them. Will be alerting the Orange County Media as well. Update : 11/2/23: the Case has NOT been dismissed by the California Bar Association who is now aware of the LIE made by the Owner of this firm that the case was dismissed. The slanderous and untrue and unethical and unprofessional comments made by this Owner towards me have also just been turned over to Prosecutors who will determine which exact laws and ethics have now been further committed by this Firm.

I have been a client of Michael Kushner for over 9 years. He represents all of my various companies. Throughout the years, he has provided me with valuable guidance. Michael has a thorough knowledge of the law and is incredibly persistent in getting me desired outcomes. His consistent track record far out shadows any other legal counsel I have worked with in the past.

I was talking to him as if I am talking to the other party's attorney. Finding excuse for the HOA that I am after...discrediting what I know for a fact. Not sure if expert or not, but I am not interested in paying $375 for your firm to tell me HOA has the right to do "selective enforcement" and violate my constitutional rights despite the fact that I forwarded all the facts and evidence and photos of prejudicial treatment comparing yards belonging to my neighbors vs mine. He is negating the facts ( me talking to homeowners who did not get similar letters and discrediting their testimony) and i informed him that 2 separate companies can testify on my behalf, his reply was "it does not matter" . The HOA decision must reign. Then why i reached out to you ? ..A very poor strategist, a bad advisor and i rate him as a "d" student if I was his teacher in law school...he needs to go back to law school and learn about how to be on the plaintiff side given the witnesses and facts ,Not give excuses for the defendant side given the preponderance of the evidence unless he is planted in your firm by Florida HOAs. >>>>>>>> Update as of 7 Nov 2023 After talking with Ms Lawsin from mbk Chapman, I realized that this firm is indeed good and professional and has the sincerest interest and the professional relationship with the customers. The firm apologized for the less than professional experience I had and took efforts to rectify. It just happened that the attorney in question did not work for me. After all, just because one finds one small stone in a good and large bag of rice does not render the entire bag of rice bad. God bless

At the time when we were struggling financially and needed legal help, Bill supported us and helped us stand our grounds. He was generous and knowing how badly we needed his help given our financial situation, he maintained his support.

Don’t go there

I had an incredibly disappointing and expensive experience with Michael Kushner as my attorney. He obviously breached his confidentiality oath by disclosing case details to an unrelated party, my obsessive ex, who had no involvement in the case. Additionally, Michael charged exorbitant fees and failed to conduct any discovery work, despite billing and collecting $30,000 from me. When I questioned him, he provided reasons he hadn't even researched or investigated. It's evident that my ex's influence played a significant role in his decisions. He even accused me of being litigious, even though it was my first lawsuit. I strongly believe that Michael Kushner should face repercussions for his unprofessional behavior, including the possibility of losing his bar card. I caution all potential clients to carefully consider his services before engaging his legal expertise.
