Just got off the phone with a supervisor of this law firm. They took $1500 from me for dealing with EDD. Many times during our consultation we talked about the hearing, preparing for the heading, meeting with an attorney, and then the attorney representing me at the hearing. Pershing Law Firm sent an appeal on my behalf. Then I just found out from EDD that my case was dismissed on its own. PSLF didn't call EDD to find out why we haven't received a response to our appeal. Not until I called them myself and asked about what was going on. So since my case was dismissed by EDD on its own with "there is nothing to appeal (EDD's representative's words) I called Pershing Square to ask for a partial refund since there was no hearing and will be no hearing. And they denied my request. So they took $1500 for filing an appeal. Which I could have done myself. Very heartbroken and disappointed. Easy $1500 for them. It is extremely easy to file an appeal. There was no real work put into this, no meeting with an attorney, no hearing. Just an appeal. For 1500 dollars. This is horrible. I told the supervisor on the phone that I could have filed an appeal myself to which she responded "But you didn't, you called us" Very snarky. Taking advantage of distressed citizens during this time of EDD disqualifying people left and right for 2020 pandemic benefits which was very stressful to deal with. And then getting easy money because EDD is finding their own errors. I admit the whole situation is a mess. But I expected for a law firm to have more integrity and being more fair.

Pershing Square is the law firm to go to if you're fighting a court case with edd. I was a bunch of nerves when I first contacted them.They always responded to my calls and patiently answered my numerous questions. They literally held my hand throughout the entire lengthy process, and did their best to ease my fears. Thank you Attorney Assaf!! You guys are truly the best!!!

OMG! Letty, my attorney, is an angel. Based on her miraculous work, she successfully presented the facts in my case that enabled the judge to rule in my favor. I do not have to pay any unemployment overage.

This post is being posted by MP , This law firm is amazing , they know the rules in and out . I would highly recommend them for all edd/employment cases . Lawyer I was assigned to is Miguel. Before reaching out to this law firm , I had called 2 other firms and they all said there is no case here .I then researched further and found Pershing square law firm , called them and they spoke with me just for a minute or two and took my case . It was a case that took about 9 months(Nov'21-Aug'22) . The initial hearing went against me , but Miguel was confident that we could take this further and he drafted a good appeals letter with the details , it went up to the appeals board and the case was granted in my favor . Received all the payments due from EDD . At times it may seems like nothing is being done , you can be assured your case is being worked on . Pershing square will look at every aspect of your case and make sure they get the justice for you .
