I hired LA Law Center four and a half years ago when my elderly mother's health began to fail and Kathy and Joe were beyond helpful at a time when I felt helpless. They guided me through everything I needed to do, answered all my questions and saved me a lot of money, time and headaches. I'm eternally grateful to them and couldn't recommend them any higher.

Joseph and his wife Kathie did an excellent job for our family in a number of areas! First and foremost was getting my debilitated mother set up with MediCal, then the Estate and Trust preparations and all of the filings that followed. They both made sure that everything was done properly, quickly and efficiently with the utmost of concern for the family going through difficult times. Joe & Kathy helped us with our family’s irrevocable trust in 2012. At the time I appreciated their help but didn’t understand what it all meant. In these last few months, after the passing of my mother, I’ve really appreciated that they were so thoughtful and mindful with their attention to all the details that I didn’t know I would be relying on so heavily. Their thoroughness when writing the trust truly helped us save the family home. There is no easy way to loose your parents, deal with loss as well as take care of family matters. But I have to say, having the legal part of that, with all that’s required of you, completed and secured in advance, in a Trust, really took the weight off my shoulders and gave me piece of mind. I highly recommend them & greatly appreciate all their efforts.

The McHugh team did an excellent job and met my expectations in arranging my mother in law's estate planning. It was a complex situation given my mother in law has dementia and we live in separate coasts. The walked us through the process step by step. They were also available at a moments notice when an urgent matter came up. Not only were they professional but also empathetic during the entire process. Years later they still respond quickly to urgent requests.

Living out of state I have been incredibly impressed by his ability to manage our case via email, text, fax & cell phone. Being 3000 miles away with Mom suddenly in need of care, I do not know what would become of her if it was not for LA Law. Diana is so patient and sweet and helpful. Kathy takes no prisoners when the system seems to be against you and your efforts. This firm made Mom's last years without tension and they saved us, too. I cannot thank them enough. Joe and his team handled my in law's estate from living trust until they passed away. We could not have done any of this without their help. When ever an issue arose, a phone call was all it would take. I would recommend Joe and LA Law Center to anyone with an estate issue.

I had no idea what to do when my mom went from hospital to nursing home and we were faced with paying $15,000 a month when Medicare ran out. Joe and his staff jumped into action and met with us on a Saturday for a free consult. They saw that we needed to move some assets so mom could qualify for Medi-Cal ASAP. Within a couple of weeks Medi-Cal was paying for nursing care and we saved mom's house from state recovery. Every person in this office is always helpful and they even give you a cell number for weekends. If you need any estate planning call these people! They saved our mom savings and the family home all at once!

Joe and Kathy Mchugh were such a big help to our family during my mother's last four years of life. They were professional and knowledgeable in all aspects of her situation. Every detail was handled quickly, and I was informed as to the process during each step. Something that really stood out to me was the fact that Kathy told me to call her anytime I had any questions, and gave me her cell number. (I don't think I was an exception). This just seemed to be the way she worked. I was never made to feel I had asked one too many questions and now it was time to pay up! I never received a bill for all the times I needed to call. With Joe and Kathy it was about helping people and not just dollar signs. This is a rare trait in today's world and says something about their character. I would highly recommend LA Law Firm and will be forever grateful.

I can't even begin to explain how Joe and Kathy turned my life around by preparing me in advance for what might happen to my husband or myself as we aged. Putting our home into a trust turned out to be a blessing beyond belief. That allowed my husband to become eligible for Medical when he developed major medical issues and ended up in a nursing home that we could not have afforded. Kathy worked tirelessly to hold my hand through initial application and stood by me through a barrage of beurocratic government mess ups until each issue got resolved..that without additional cost. The skills involved literally saved me, and allow me to have a retirement without the horrid stress that I was under before being referred to these amazing folks. Moral support, tireless effort to work through myriads of paperwork, things I never could have conceived of or figured out and I am a smart, competent person. I cannot recommend Joe and Karhy highly enough. Don't miss out, call them!
