I hired this firm to handle my divorce and we just wrapped things up. Attorney Josh Yee handled my case and was so kind and thorough through the process. He was able to settle all of the issues and prevent my case from going to trial. When it came time to settle my bill, I talked to partner, John Griffith. He was understanding of my circumstances and generous in agreeing to discount my bill and allow me to make payments. I would definitely recommend this firm to anyone needing compassionate, but also skillful representation.

Family court is very scary, and the process can feel overwhelming. Amy Lass and Sarah Newhouse at Griffith Young & Lass have been the best support. Amy is direct and clear and she is in your corner. She is responsive and helps you navigate these very dark waters with a natural lightness. She takes her work seriously and it is clear her clients are important to her. It is obvious that to her it is much more than a job - she cares... and when you are fighting for your children, what you want and need so badly is someone who knows the system to care. Highly recommend.

GYL was extremely helpful especially April Hu and John Griffith. The children were in a very unsafe situation and they were able to act quickly for the best outcome possible. I can’t say enough about April Hu she is not only proficient at her job, she makes you feel like a real person, she listens, she is considerate and an outside of the box thinker and she cares about her clients and their experience. She is attentive and understands the depths of how difficult the family law legal process can be and she made me and the children feel as if we were a priority every step of the way. He took on my initial DVRO case and because of the excellent experience I had with him, I requested that he’d take on the other two cases. I was looking for an attorney who would be able to accurately answer all of my questions and doubts, and to guide me to the best decisions I could make for my situations, I was looking for a punctual, professional, and knowledgeable attorney, and Mr. Yee went above and beyond my expectations. If you never want to see your kids again and have your ex take every last dime….hire these clowns. Do yourself a favor, drive downtown and hire miranda law. They will listen to you, prepare for court dates and stand up for their client. If that does not sound appealing, you can call this “law” firm to “defend” you.

One thing people should know is that lawyers are not miracle workers in California. The family court system is bound by laws and legal codes. Judges make decisions aligned with those laws. The problem with this firm is that they will promise you the world and get zero results. If they win, it’s because their client was on the right side of the law. I’m writing this review as someone who was an opposing party in a family law matter, where GYL represented the other party. I went up against this firm unrepresented five times due to my ex husband’s nonsense and I won each and everytime. My ex husband paid this firm over $20,000.00 and they did not win a single motion for him. This doesn’t bring me joy to mention, it disgusts me because they knew they had no case and just continued to take his money. Money that could have been spent on my daughter’s education. It’s probably rare for someone to give the advice not to hire a firm because they beat them unrepresented, but here I am, warning you to save your money and find a lawyer who is going to give you realistic expectations. If I can successfully argue motions and embarrass the attorneys of this firm with no law degree, why would anyone else pay them? The attorneys here ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Amy Lass and her team took over my case from another firm after several months of spinning wheels and little movement and immediately shined a hope filled light into what felt like a pretty dismal situation. The opposing counsel was well known for bullying tactics and fee raising strategies and Amy knew exactly how to handle her and get us on a smart path forward. Amy has a highly effective team who jumped in and got the job done right and fast. They are amazing! Within a few short months we got to mediation and settled! Overall, the service I received from Griffith, Young and Lass was stellar! Yes, that means top 1% - better than outstanding!

This is my third time that I have had a lawyer leave my case. I understand things happen and after the second time I was given a partner Catie to deal with my case. My daughters father and his counsel were notified of this change before even I was aware. I am not in the position to be going around lawyer to lawyer at different firms. Catie was very helpful in the beginning but as my case went on I was basically told that “it is what it is” and I don’t feel like anyone really fought for me other than the first lawyer I had. I don’t feel like a priority with my case being thrown away again. I really wish I could have someone help like Catie did in the beginning and I’m very upset she’s leaving my case. Please save yourself the trouble and find a different firm. Edit: After being told this last time of the attorney leaving was standard procedure it seems there was a misunderstanding. However, my case was passed around two other times and I did not feel like a priority at this firm.

I went to GYL for help renewing my DVRO and child support arrears and got connected with Lea Trojanowski. Lea and Grier King would always make sure to communicate with me to check in and make sure I knew what was happening at all times and if they needed any additional information to help them with either of my cases. There's no way I would have been able to do any of this on my own. There are no words that can express how great Lea and Grier were. If I could sum it up in one word it would be AWESOME. Services are not cheap but worth it and they offer payment plans. They're open about their fees upfront and also considerate about your budget along the way after your retainer has been used up. You get a feeling of a heart attack when you get your bill but after you get the end result of services you realize it's going to be ok.
