Making the decision to meet with Nik and Kristin was a tough one, as I'd always viewed bankruptcy as something that other people did who had spending problems or were looking for the easy way out. Perfectionist overachiever that I've been my entire life, I prided myself on having excellent credit and never asking for help, no matter what crisis life threw at me and how much I started to drown in debt. So I had to swallow my pride and was prepared for what I assumed would be judgment. Yet from the moment I sat down with Nik and Kristin, I felt nothing but relief. I was met with kindness, understanding, professionalism, patience. Everything except judgment. And by the end of that first meeting, it was clear that filing Chapter 7 was the right decision and a smart decision, and they helped me to see it as a new chapter rather than giving up. I had no hesitation in retaining them, and throughout the process they responded quickly to my questions and emails, accommodated every last-minute request to meet to drop off documents or payments, and laughed at some of my crazy stories. I am so grateful for their support and expertise, and feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Let's just say my husband and I did not expect to have to ever file for bankruptcy! But life can throw you unexpected challenges! We found New Chapter Law Group on Yelp. It was already a little past 6 pm, but I decided to give them a call, and maybe leave a message or find some info they might have on their answering machine. But I did not have to do either, because they picked up! AFTER HOURS! Krisitin answered and was so pleasant, which put us at ease right away. They set up an over the phone interview with us, and totally worked around our schedules, without any hesitating. All the information was given to us in a way we could understand simply. Before we started the process, bankruptcy seemed like such a "monster" of a word. But both Kristin and Nik made it sound so simple. Which was almost weird at first, because we kept expecting something to go wrong! But nothing ever went wrong. They were there for us every step of the way. Their replies were always prompt, helpful and a relief. Whatever worry we had, they put at ease. If we emailed them at midnight, we typically saw a reply by the morning. And the best part was, they even had a sense of humor all the way through. It was not uncommon to read replies and laugh! Which lightened everything up too! We felt how much they cared about our case and us personally. They have 3 office locations, which is so convenient too! We are so thankful we found New Chapter Law Group.
