My family hired Ms. Bednar to help defend my brother from a lawsuit. My brother was incarcerated, and other attorneys we had contacted would not even listen to his case. After calling dozens of attorneys, Ms.Bednar was the ONLY one who took the time to listen carefully and understand our concerns. Throughout the year or so that we worked with her, we did not always see eye-to-eye, but she consistently demonstrated two critical qualities: First, she always let us know that she was listening carefully, and second, she was faithful to the statement on her website that she believed in the importance of working with her clients as a team. Lawyers have a reputation for being interested only in the almighty dollar, and I doubt there are many who work for free. Ms. Bednar charged a standard rate for attorneys in her area, but we never felt she was in any way dishonest or greedy. She kept careful accounts as to how our money was being spent, down to the minute, and she gave us clear monthly reports. Our final result was not a complete "win," but given the circumstances of the case, it was perhaps the best result we could have hoped for. I would definitely hire her again if I needed an attorney.

There's so much to say about this fine and experienced Attorney. She has compassion which is evident in how she assists her clients needs. Her attitude is one of " lets get what you didn't receive from perhaps a prior Attorney " and succeed as best as the system allows. Jane has a diverse background and this allows her to be an extraordinary person who listens to every small detail. She has real compassion for others who have been less than fortunate with their case in a court of law. She seeks justice for her clientele and is well versed to have a very professional approach when she addresses her mind / thoughts, and facts. She is strong willed and likes to have good consistent communication from A to Z with whatever she is helping to take care of or repair. I have a high rating of respect and admiration for this caring well equipped balanced pro. She is also quick to return calls and emails, which with anybody's legal case or other legal related matters, is essential.

Jane took my mother's case against her mortgage broker on a contingent fee basis after my family conducted a lengthy search, and no other lawyer would take the case. She filed the case, researched more about the law and the circumstances than I knew was possible, found written evidence that strengthened the case considerably, and led the deposition and mediation efforts with a sure hand, while sensibly keeping expenses down at every turn. Then, she held firm after the first offer or two, because she knew what was possible. The result was a much bigger settlement than we had initially hoped for, which helped my mother immeasurably, restoring her finances enough to afford to live, along with her modest retirement, for the rest of her life. In addition, Jane negotiated directly with the current mortgage holder to get long-term relief so that my mother could easily afford to keep her house on her limited income, none of which was included in Jane's fee. I don't know that any other lawyer could have, or more importantly, would have handled the case so well and with such care and generosity. I recommend her wholeheartedly to my friends and family, and I will call Jane first, should the need arise.

I live in Masschusetts, however, I had an aunt that lived in Pacific Grove, CA. When a step-daughter came to live with my aunt, all the provisions of her will started to change drastically. Within 9 months, three changes were made. My aunt has Alzheimer's. She had no idea what she was being told to sign. She was afraid of the step-daughter.
