The entire experience was flawless from beginning to end. She and her staff are friendly and extremely professional, and Emily definitely knows her stuff!! Met with Emily Lerner to update our existing estate plan. She walked us through each step of the process clearly explaining what each document was, what it accomplished, and ensured it met our needs. When I needed to amend my estate plan, I looked for a lawyer who had two qualities: 1) Good social media reviews 2) An easily located office in Claremont. The first lawyer I chose because I knew exactly where her office was, but she was about to go on maternity leave, so I tried my second choice. I was happy to learn that Emily’s office was conveniently located in downtown Claremont, but more important, I liked her tone both on the telephone and in person. Even before I was bullied by multiple real estate lawyers and backstabbed by the one that I hired (he lost his license), I didn’t trust lawyers and tried to avoid hiring one. Also, as I have aged, I’ve become more sensitive to tone and demeanor. I don’t like disrespectful or condescending people. Emily’s tone and demeanor were perfect for me. In fact, I was so relaxed with her during our first in-person conference that I started to complain about some disrespectful younger relatives and (a side effect of my age) briefly cried. Emily responded appropriately. I left her office thinking that if she decided to change careers she would make a great therapist. But Emily doesn’t need to change careers. She did an excellent job preparing and explaining my estate planning documents. I also appreciated the tone and demeanor of receptionist/notary Brittany. I recommend Emily to sensitive seniors and anyone else who wants to create or amend an estate plan.
