I had the pleasure of working with Attorney Justin C. Lowenthal during a mediation involving a commission-related dispute with another broker, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From the very beginning, Justin stood out for his professionalism, extensive experience, and unwavering support. He was always quick to respond and made himself available whenever I had questions or concerns, no matter the time of day. Justin Lowenthal has earned a stellar review from me. He's an honest, hard working and dependable lawyer. Sharp as they come. I'm the owner of a general contracting corp, and we deal with significant amounts of money on the daily. Often times, when large sums get involved people get a little nuts, their eye's bug out, they clench a fist and sweat... And they just have to make trouble. I had a customer that saw an opportunity to create a problem for me. They filed legal paperwork against my company, and that's when I was lucky enough to get in touch with Mr. Lowenthal. We had a few very productive meetings, where he explained everything I needed to know to make good decisions about our case. If I had it to do over again, I would have just followed his advise without pushing the matter further, but I was mad... So he went to bat for me, and negotiated a settlement that was FAR below my potential exposure. After all that, Justin wrote us up a bullet proof contract that closed the loop holes in our previous contract which had allowed these people to have a case at all. If you are a contractor, or in real estate, or whatever you do in Davis business, Justin is your top pick, for sure. Worth every penny and more.

We consulted and hired Justin for a complicated case of non disclosure after purchasing a home. Justin is a great communicator. He kept us up to date every step of the way and later suggested mediation which was by far the perfect solution to our situation. Highly recommend Justin for any aspect of real estate law.

I consulted with Justin about a protracted problem with a 25 year ground lease for a vineyard. He quickly understood the many moving parts, the different people and entities involved that I tried to explain, read my long contract before I even arrived, and I left feeling comfortable that I finally have an attorney with whom I can consult, or hire if need be, I paid several tens of thousands of dollars over the course of 7 months to an attorney with nearly forty years of experience (and awards) who didn’t know a critical-to-my-problem law had been legislated/changed 33 years ago(!). Justin knew what I was referring to in my layman’s language immediately. I’ve taken a breather and am now ready to start back up trying to resolve the problem (with a cabal of three people). I am trying to stay out of court despite that I am on solid legal ground Justin assured me, the tenant having clearly breached the contract. When it [finally] comes to a head, soon, I feel so comfortable knowing I can turn to Justin. And… his fee is much more reasonable. I do not know him well yet of course, just had a preliminary consultation meeting, but he will be the one I hire if I need to and I will be able to write a more knowledgeable review upon resolution.

We spoke with approximately nine attorneys before deciding to hire Justin and hiring Justin was the absolute best decision that we could have made. From our first conversation, we could tell that Justin's knowledge-base was unparalleled and his level of understanding of real estate law was superior to the other attorneys that we spoke with. This would prove itself to be true as we watched Justin in action and successfully reached a happy settlement without the need for arbitration.  The issue: We purchased a home and found ourselves dealing with a major failure-to-disclose issue. The issue was complex in nature and required an astronomical amount of money to repair. As you can probably imagine, we were incredibly frustrated and anxious prior to hiring Justin.  The process: In preparation for mediation, no stone was left unturned by Justin. We felt very prepared and we knew what to expect. During the mediation, Justin was tactful and quick-witted. We were truly impressed with his ability to respond quickly and navigate such a difficult situation. He was relentless and never waned. What would have normally been a very stressful process, was made easy and as stress-free as possible by Justin. We were so happy to have him in our corner. Noteworthy things: Justin was very financially conscious and always acted in our best interest with respect to keeping costs down. He was professional, yet personable, and always a pleasure to speak with.  Needless to say, we would highly recommend Justin to anyone. 

We hired Justin in something of a panic re: a residential real estate purchase that was suddenly going sideways. We interviewed several attorneys that didn't quite fit. Then we spoke with a person who does mediation for real estate disputes, and he recommended Justin. Instant peace of mind! We'd found someone we enjoyed working with and whose legal advice we trusted. I come from a mainly medical family, and I liken it to finding a surgeon whose technical competence is first-rate, but who is also personable and emotionally supportive: Justin is the legal equivalent! Almost three years after I sold my house in CA the buyer sued me claiming I failed to provide the fact I smoked in the house and that to eliminate the smell would cost over $100,000. A completely frivolous suit. I had identified the fact in the sales documents. Contacted Justin, provided him all documentation. Judicial system allows for suits of this nature to happen and before it would be finished would cost over $10,000 in legal and court fees. Justin was upfront with everything and when it was finished the cost for everything was less than 1/10th the suit. He forcefully negotiated the agreement, and professionally worked with the mediator to reduce the cost to an acceptable amount. He has a tremendous knowledge of residential law, is very experienced, provides all realistic options, and is very conscious of his customers needs. He worked for my needs not his and that was evident from the beginning. He will give you the best results. His staff of Deborah and Kathy were very knowledgeable and professional through out the process. Highly recommend Justin.

Mr Justin is a Wonderful and Loyal attorney who helped us through a very hard time we were going through.
