I hired Delia Knox Rios after the passing of my Mother to assist me in the probate process. This time was extremely difficult with my loss, and it was even greatly intensified by the complex process of closing her estate with no will. I sought Delia’s assistance because she had already worked with settling my mother’s divorce. My mother and I were pleased with how she handled the affairs of the divorce case, so I was confident that she would successfully handle the probate process. In the beginning, I was so confused and didn’t know where to begin with the logistics of a death without a will. Delia compassionately walked me through the steps, and made it an easy transition for me. During this time, she identified and oversaw my mother’s property and determined the value of it. Thereafter, she submitted a list of my mother’s property and its value to the courts. She identified all the claims made to the estate, which included credit cards, and a case still stemming from her divorce. The probate process began to get complicated due to an outstanding claim. This claim against the estate was causing me to have to go to Family Law court to settle the matter. During this time, I had to hire Delia to settle this matter for me, in which she did an outstanding job. She was determined to protect her client, and went above and beyond to settle my case, even witnessing on the stand on my behalf. She was happy to step aside as the Attorney of record in this claim to provide pivotal information obtained in the divorce, which resulting in the claim being settled in our favor. She worked hard and fought for my case, and worked tirelessly on it. She helped us though the most difficult time, when we thought we were beyond help. I highly recommend Delia Knox Rios. She is relentless, determined, and has proven herself to handle a variety of cases.

Delilah was referred to me and at the time I was in distress over my divorce. I made an appointment with Mrs. Rios and for the last 3 yrs. she has been my attorney. I have won every time we have gone to court. She or her assistant has always been there for any questions I may have. I highly recommend Mrs. Rio's for any family law situation you may have....I have read some of the reviews on this page and find them to not be my experience at ALL. Delilah is very professional, calm and very caring, not a trait found in most attorneys. Delilah in my opinion is one of the best attorneys in the valley.

Very intelligent hard working lady.

Simply put, I hired her, I gave her lots of money, she waited around for months to file documents necessary to get my case going, billed me for time she didn't work (in fact she double billed for a few items). When approached on the billing, "it was my computer" like the reviewer below mentioned. She is confrontational and asks for more money constantly. Her assistant(s) are defensive and sketchy. In the end, Rios is a waste of time and actually put me in a worse position after her involvement. Her sales pitch (positive reviews???) is tired and it is only a matter of time before she is sanctioned.

I worked with another att before her and its all drama and exaggeration my divorce for me was very painful I'm just really glad that Delilah was able to finalize it for me in the best way which was in a very calm way.......

After searching for lawyers to initiate my divorce, I decided on Delilah because she endorses collaborative divorce. I wanted my marriage to end as amicably as possible because getting to the point where you pursue divorce is a difficult process in itself. The first impression I got was that she wasn't predatory or aggressive and I think it's because she truly believes in the collaborative methods of divorce. Her calm and professional demeanor definitely helps when you're trying to negotiate with your ex because she doesn't provoke your defenses per se. Although I paid for her services, she took the role of mediator between myself and my ex, rather than as my personal attack dog against my ex. She opened my eyes up to all kinds of things that I didn't realize in regards to divorce and custody. And because she was working for a resolution that would work for both parties, she even got me to reconsider certain things that I thought I would never budge on. Because of her, the divorce proceedings went quickly and was easy on our hearts and budget. She didn't charge me extra for minutae like emails or phone calls or even extra meetings. It was a pleasure to work with her and her assistant, Ana. After reading the negative reviews, I understand why some people may have been unhappy. If you want a lawyer who is just trained to make the other party miserable, Delilah's not right for you. And her assistant, Ana, was nothing but kind in every regard. They were responsive to my concerns and my divorced worked out very well. They work as a team WITH you and your family. Highly recommended... if you are ready to start a new chapter in your life with a positive outlook.

Hired Delilah Knox-Rios for divorce....bottom line. Big mistake!!. Not only did she not handle my case competently, she was not assertive and seemed not to care about expediting the case or fighting for me. Had no strategy and took no initiative for my benefit. Was reactive, not proactive. Tried to increase her hourly fee on me mid-way, charged me for phone calls she said she wouldn't, and then blamed her computer system for the error. So, if your foolish to hire her, better check your billing statements w/ a fine tooth comb. Agreed with other reviewer (Wes.S) in that you only hear from her every 4-6 weeks at best, and she does not return your calls, even when her very rude secretary says she will call you the next day. But she is quick to send you a bill. Only when I brought up a certain issue/concern did she do anything, and she is supposed to be the expert. Delilah caused me additional stress I did not need just from her work ethics, incompetency, apathy and staff.

Although divorce is difficult, I never regretted choosing Delilah Rios as my lawyer. Professional, competent, and compassionate! Always available for me as we navigated through one of the most stressful and emotional decisions in my life. I highly recommend her!
