My boyfriend was hit by a car in April. Both of his legs were broken, his clavicle was broken, and his foot was so severely injured that two of his toes were amputated. He is lucky to be alive. Unfortunately, Ricardo Perez saw a post about this accident on Facebook and, since he knew my boyfriend since school days, he immediately reached out and offered his “services.” Because my boyfriend felt he could trust him, he retained him as an attorney. That was the LAST interaction with Ricardo for MONTHS. After retaining him, it was incumbent upon myself and my boyfriend to constantly reach out and follow up. Many emails were unanswered. Ultimately, it seems that once Ricardo learned that the driver’s insurance policy had a 15K max payout (meaning his 1/3 would only be 5K), my boyfriend’s case was not worth much of his time. Ultimately, Ricardo and his office have only intermittently and finally reconnected to offer final paperwork after my boyfriend (who is thankfully now out of the hospital) continually reached out to find out what is going on. We could have handled this more quickly (and retained the 1/3 that Ricardo took for his “services”) had we not signed with him. His actions are in bad faith and predatory.
