A few years ago, my sister and I found our selves in a most difficult circumstance that centered around a legal issue that my father, who was dying in the hospital, had failed to resolve. Suffice to say, we were emotionally wrought and desperate for help. I had reached out to a few other lawyers, most of whom never bothered to return my call and if they did, were more interested in their up-front fees, than offering helpful counsel. Fortunately, we found Brian and he immediately understood the gravity of the situation and was able to map out a plan of action. His calm demeanor, and solid knowledge of the law, kept an already difficult situation from becoming worse. Talk about going the extra mile, he even came to the hospital to meet my father – not a place most lawyers go -- and make sure that the matter was resolved properly. After our father passed, Brian was instrumental in taking care of some of difficult and confusing paperwork including title-transfers and other filings that we had no idea were legally required. He also counseled us on the importance of having a will, or a trust, the value of advance health-care-directives, and other important pre-need paperwork. Brian Sheppard is first and foremost a man of integrity and principle, well-versed in the nuances of the law, and fundamentally a man with the courage to do what is right. Over the years, I have had occasion to call him with a simple a question and he has gentlemanly and generously resolved the matter without an outrageous bill. Our only regret is that we weren’t able to avail ourselves of Brian’s services earlier.

Brian was the absolute worse attorney I have ever had. He is very lazy and doesn’t take the time to actually review each case. Oh and after all the money you spend, he will loose the case anyways. He is horrible! Do not use brain Sheppard.

Brian was easy to work with and most helpful in explaining the arcane language of estate planning. HIs fees are very reasonable and he is quick to reply to follow-up questions.

We were referred to Mr. Sheppard by another lawyer and were very satisfied with his services. He seemed extremely knowledgeable in his field of expertise and helped us in the dreaded, but necessary, process of creating a living trust. His fees were reasonable and did not change from what he originally quoted us. I have not hesitated to refer him when the topic of trusts comes up in conversation with friends.

Brian prepared a new estate plan for my wife and me. He listened to our issues, answered our questions in clear, non-legalese, and produced the exact plan my wife and I had desired.

I sought consultation with Brian Sheppard because of strong recommendations he received from a friend who had had him work on her mother’s will and estate planning. My mother’s living trust was in need of revision and the original attorney was no longer in practice. Brian was an attentive listener. He provided a wealth of information. He reviewed legal documents and provided clear and specific options. He was warm and engaging, clearly a strong advocate for my mother’s interests and also highly ethical. Overall, my experience confirmed the very high marks my friend had given him.

My Mother passed away in May and Brian was very helpful in guiding me with her estate, particularly with the transfer of her home to my trust. He also assisted me in obtaining an appraisal for the property and provided advice regarding the rental contract and property management. He was a great resource for many other issues as well.

I have been working with Brian for close to 20 years. Brian has been patient and caring with my elderly parents with their legal issues . He has worked with me on my trust as well as tenant/ landlord issues. He is extremely professional and I will say it again, very patient and will make sure that he provides very clear information on the choices available. I will continue to use Brian and recommend him.

Brian Sheppard has given me excellent financial advice for the last eight years, including taking steps I hadn't even thought of, such as paying off my mortgage after I received an inheritance. I am grateful for every minute I spend with him for his knowledge and counsel.

Mr. Sheppard represented my adult mentally challenged daughter during a long conservatorship trial. There were two parties interested in becoming my daughter's conservator (myself included). It became obvious to the court and Mr. Sheppard that the competing petitions for her conservatorship could not become co-conservator successfully. Yet my daughter needed someone to look after her affairs currently and in the future. Mr. Sheppard was very kind to my daughter, he spoke to her so she could understand what was happening, yet he did not talk down to her (very fatherly). The competing petitions for my daughters conservatorship was very contentious and cross accusatory . Mr. Sheppard needed to acquire many third party documents to sort through the 'this party said' and 'that party said' stuff. Anyway the trial lasted more than a year and required a great deal of patience from Mr. Sheppard. The judge awarded me sole conservatorship of my daughter and the other petitioner visitation rights to be negotiated by Mr. Sheppard. Mr. Sheppard was very patient with all parties because it took several months to get a marginal visitation agreement. Mr. Sheppard remained my daughter steadfast advocate throughout the whole process and still remains her advocate. Thank you Mr. Sheppard
