I hired her as a family lawyer to get me child support from a completed Dissomaster that was completed by my previous attorney (in over a year she never got me anything nor was anything filed in court), she was to help with a breech of fiduciary responsibility (which is why I overturned a free hybrid judgment, never did anything), show the court the perceived neglect of my children from my ex (from many pictures and testimonial from people) never requested a court date, the divorce itself as I requested a trial and trial setting conference. She claimed she was super busy so I emailed her that she should put it on a date she could attend but, she booked it on dates she could not be there, she burned up my retainer, $3,000.00 and I supposedly owe her more for literally NOTHING COMPLETED. She filed a motion to be relieved after I went to court to find it had been taken off the calendar without notifying me. Now, I have two upcoming court dates with no family lawyer to represent me and a mediation conference. She worked with my Civil lawyer who said she was incompetent or surely extremely lazy. She seems to be in law to make money and not represent the clients with their best interest a heart. Many times I felt she was asking me for advice or to make decision that a well-versed lawyer should be advising me on. We met initially in an office that was not her own, she never wanted to talk or meet face to iron out our plans or streamline the process for me. Ultimately she made excuses for failures and gaslighted me as if I were a lawyer ( would never step by step walk me through a process to complete anything and she would not complete anything). If you are treated like me she will take your ($5,000) money and charge you to make requests or send emails that she won't fulfill or complete while your conversations and email cost you, and she will make sure your retainer is vanishing talking to opposing counsel while accomplishing nothing. Instead of working harder or smarter, her true nature will come out and she will quit instead of doing what you paid her for. She also predicted Judge Silberman's responses or what she thought he would do to make excuses for why she couldn't or wouldn't do her job.

Allison is an honest, practical, and compassionate attorney. In all my dealings with her, I found her to be a breath of fresh air in a field of law that is unfortunately known to many as being filled with money-hungry selfish jerks. She is a trustworthy person, and I have and will continue to recommend her to those in need during what is often the most challenging time in their lives or prepare them for marriage with a pre-nuptial agreement.

Allison got me thru a case where I would have lost it all if something went wrong and she didn't know what she was doing. Well for being such an obscure type of case, she won it for me, and i will forever be grateful to her. She is very very smart. Donna R.

I won’t go into details as I know they can not be disclosed due to client-attorney confidentiality but this attorneys representation was beyond poor and failed to even come close to exceeding any slight expectation. I retained her for about the going rate of most attorneys that would take on my case only to be over charged for her services, if that’s what you want to call them. I felt as if she was working for the opposing council as all of my request were shutdown by her before even consulting with the other party. Let me make this clear, not one of my requests were unreasonable. I was blindsided in court when it came to terms I was agreeing upon due to her lack of explanation and had to set aside the agreement to address these issues with another attorney. To make a long story short I discontinued her representation and retained a new attorney and all it took was one trip to court to get most of everything I was asking for with one hearing remaining. I can not even express how displeased I am with her services. You want to go into the courtroom knowing you have someone by your side that will fight for you and not once did I have this feeling with her. After switch attorneys I learned that this law firm has a very poor reputation among the legal community. My new attorney was substantially able to achieve more in 2 weeks then what Mrs. Novik was able to achieve in 4 months.

Trying to charge over $7200 yes over $7200 For going to court 1 time and asking an extension 1 time and got nothing done in court!!! Just threw money away. She was my family lawyer for 1 month and when I got the first invoice after a fail in court with such a high amount owed, I immediately discontinued services. I wish I never hired her. This whole situation gave me so much stress.

Allison is an invaluable life saver in a sea of sharks. During the painful process of dissolving my marriage, she was fair, honest, compassionate, kind, and no non-sense when it was necessary. She maintained professionalism at all times, but still expressed empathy and encouraged me when I needed it. I would highly recommend her. She is one of a kind!

Originally I met with Mr. Zahn of the Zahn Laww office that Ms. Novik is a part of at his Ventura office. He had a very good understanding of my situation even in a quick meeting and I was sure he and his firm would be able to represent me well. I then worked with Ms. Novik in the Encino office. In either office, you deal directly with the attorneys. This creates a very personal experience compared to primarily working through a paralegal. With paralegals, a quick question gets asked, your attorney gets consulted, and then you get a response in a day or three. This is a time consuming and expensive process. With Ms. Novik, I'm able to speak directly to her whenever she is available and I get immediate assistance and resolution. Ms. Novik has shown great professionalism and attention to the specific needs of my situation. She has been willing to closely review paperwork and spot inconsistencies that may be missed in a busier office and certainly by myself. Sure I know what I want in my case and she has been able to draw out a plan in the papers that I thought met my needs and the needs of the case perfectly. Ms. Novik is very willing to work within the requests I have and is willing to provide guidance beyond just "checking off boxes" to simply get through things. After all, I wouldn't need an attorney if I knew what to ask and how to make it happen. In short, Ms. Novik at the Zahn Law Office comes highly recommended.

Allison was very kind and patient and thorough with my child support case, and effective - I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. She put my mind at ease during a very stressful time in my life. I highly recommend her.

Although the case took longer expected (due to my demanding work schedule), Allison knew from the beginning of the direction the case was going. I retained Allison to prepare the the last set of forms for my dissolution, including a marital settlement agreement. She exceeded my expectations! I had dreaded retaining an attorney for fear they would run off with my case and I’d not hear from them again, leaving me with little control. Wow, Allison was the opposite. Her communication was prompt and straightforward, and she was very knowledgable about the arduous process of navigating a case through the Los Angeles Superior Court system. I was referred to Allison by a friend of mine. I was unable to retain her as she doesn't practice in my county however that has never stopped her from helping me in my child custody dispute to the extent that she is able to. I have been both pro se and represented by attorneys over the last couple of years and sometimes things just weren't clear for me and many times Allison took the time to explain things to me in lay man's terms as well as share her invaluable perspective as a family law attorney. She is extremely knowledgeable, sees angles to things that others hadn't when presented with the same information and has been such an asset to unofficially have in my corner. She truly cares about others which is evident as is she didn't she wouldnt help a complete stranger (me) as much as she has with nothing to gain. That is such a rarity in our legal system, especially amongst family law attorneys. To find an attorney that is in it because they truly want to help people through one of life's most trying times is like finding a needle in a haystack: nearly impossible. If you are fortunate enough to be in the counties that she practices in, do not hesitate to retain her! I personally know how difficult it is to trust attorneys as I've been burned by a few and I can say that she's nothing like those guys, she is a diamond and I am so thankful we crossed paths!

Allison is an excellent attorney! She is hardworking, knowledgeable, supportive and very caring. She helped me to finalize a very long and stressful divorce. Towards the end, she went above and beyond and was able to get me a great result. I highly recommend her and would definitely hire her again when needed.
