He answered some questions and then told me I should settle with a litigant who didn't own the property, had no evidence to support his claims and was merely an extortionist. Then Lushanko asked for $500 retainer; we sent that. He also talked and talked and talked over me in phone conversations, and feel we got very little in return for our $500: he offered $5k to plaintiffs' counsel on our behalf, when we had said we could go no higher than $2500 and really didn't want to pay anything at all. I retired from practicing law and believe I know about how much it should cost to review documents and state what needs to be done. When we asked for an accounting and refund I think he loaded it up in a lump sum to fit the $500 and more, which he "generously" waived over and above what we paid. It looked like he just overestimated the time for each task to fit the $500, as many attorneys do in order to avoid refunding anything. I would not have sent him a penny had I known these facts.
