Based on their past reviews I asked my company to hire this law firm for my immigration matter and I am so glad I chose this firm. The best part with this law firm is that they are being honest on what they say and what they say is what they do also, unlike many law firms who doesn't respond or take calls. My case was time sensitive and I asked them how long would it take to file my documents and based on some calculation they told 1 week. Whereas other law firms told me 10-14 days. And this law firm made sure that my case was filed in 7 days even if they had to work after office hours. And not to mention that they always picked my calls and always responded my emails or even txts. Penny is pleasure to work with. Though she has lot of work load but she has always greeted warmly and have responded my queries professionally. I have no hesitation recommending them to my friends. Rather I actually had referred and my close friend also engaged them for his immigration matter.

I was holding a provisional green card which has expired but extended with an I-797 notice of action. I had to apply for a permanent green card which I did a year back. However, I was slapped with a RFE while I was on a vacation with my hub in japan around Nov 2019. It was worrying for me as I had failed to show up at a Biometrics appointment. The letter noted that failure to show at the appointment would assume to be an abandonment of the petition. (It was pretty unnerving but Christine advised me to fix it pretty easily.) However, I was overseas and did not know that I have a letter at all so I can't reschedule the appointment. I was new to the East Bay so I didn't have a lawyer to represent me. I was so glad that I found Derek Lim's law office on yelp!! Christine Chao, the Case Manager, was prompt to reply my email. She was one of the first people to reply my email and they accepted a flat fee for my immigration case which helped a lot since I just had a baby. I also liked that they have two locations for their office and I can go to the one in Fremont which was closer to me. She was friendly and didn't mind that I brought my crying baby along so that's a big PLUS. I felt comfortable in letting her know my situation. Derek and his team managed to handle everything in a professional way and prompt way. I got my permanent green card in the mail in march 2020 and highly recommend everyone to go to this law office!

Mr. Lim's Law office is representing me on my PI case - I was in a three car accident (3rd party fault). Originally I was averse to getting services of any lawyer, but I am VERY glad I did. Having a lawyer representation helped me in dealing with several challenges: While I wasn't even fully recovered. my own insurance company low-balled me; the police report of the accident barely had any details (even though I remember first respondents taking pictures and video of the scene); the third party insurance company refused to accept liability and dragged the negotiation on and on and on! It has more than a year and my case is still not completely closed. However, Christine and Mr. Lim's staff have been persistent and firm in getting a fair settlement for me. They have been prompt and very helpful in answering my questions. My case is still ongoing, but I am very happy with their efforts so far.
