Stay away from Trevor Hensley! He is a very passive and highly ineffective attorney and will drag your case out a long as he can, especially if you have known available resources for him to readily deplete. He's much more interested in convincing you to settle for much less than in fighting to get you the greatest outcome; as he works much harder in getting on very friendly terms with the opposing party than in representing you and giving you the needed advice to place you in a favorable position. He thinks he's being effective by becoming "friendly" with the opposing party, when actually, he's getting played and set up for being out-witted and out-foxed. Which he was at every single turn in all of my cases. I hired Trevor to assist me in a highly contentious Divorce, DCSS Child Support and Custody Case that involve a DVRO without any conviction or charges, only allegations. And unfortunately over time it became apparent that Trevor was in way over his head and was incapable of providing adequate counsel for this degree of such highly contested magnitude. Trevor repeatedly manipulated me by giving me false expectations and then failing to deliver. He required constant reminding of the fundamental facts of the case and charged me for every minute, and then some. Then in court, he rarely argued to any degree worthy his fee. Most often, I could have presented a much better argument. Never was he even remotely aggressive. Most of the time he was very cordial, amicable and completely unconvincing. After over a year of his representation and nearly $40,000 in legal fees all I had to show for it was a mere 15% visitation time share with my two toddler boys, joint legal custody only, a non-rebutted 3044 DV case, and an unresolved DCSS Child Support and Dissolution Case. And in the end Trevor deceived me into signing him out of my cases and left me with unresolved issues in every case; while unashamedly taking my money. Every and any favorable decision I received from the courts came as a result of my own efforts before his involvement. Trevor did absolutely nothing for me except take my money and vacate a trial to rebut the Family Code 3044 presumption in lieu of getting me joint legal custody which really amounted to very little considering the cost I incurred while still keeping me bound under the presumption. The bulk of his charges were for responding to email threads that were often a result of asking me for repeat information or because of him not adequately responding to my phone calls and then not answering my initial email inquiries properly in the first place when there was no other way of communicating with him. In his emails, he would purposely respond vaguely only to generate more questions that required his additional response. He preferred email over phone calls because he could arbitrarily manipulate his charges for time. Trevor is an office attorney not a litigator, and prefers making his living sitting behind his desk over-charging for things that don't have a direct and positive impact on your case, but serve only to absolve you of your money. There were many tasks that he'd ask me to prepare for him in helping defend my case and then wouldn't even use them in my defense at the hearings or in the negotiations. However, he did insist on appearing for me on a motion in a criminal case to modify a CPO where he convinced me that he needed to be there to ensure that a then very restrictive CPO would be modified to align with the more lenient DVRO, which he at failed miserably, but still charged me over $3000 for his time. I would certainly not recommend trusting Trevor Hensley to handle any highly contested family matter. In the end, he deceptively walked away from my representation without anything resolved and without any shame or remorse. He failed miserably on so many levels with my cases it's not even funny! Trevor Hensley has been, and continues to be, a godsend during my difficult and prolonged divorce/settlement proceedings. He is kind, supportive, knowledgeable, and exceptional at what he does. In truth I am at a loss to find the words to express how much I appreciate his care and consideration as well as his expertise. He is not only a fine attorney, he is a good person!

I retained Trevor Hensley to help me with a custody and child support battle. He was my attorney for over a year. He helped me with every aspect of my custody case from preparing the paperwork to appearing in court. He was passionate, honest, and hardworking. Trevor Hensley is hands down the best family law attorney I have ever met or worked with. Watching him in the courtroom is something to behold because of hIs extensive knowledge and his ability to apply that knowledge in such a seamless and skillful way. It's like he is always thinking a few steps ahead which is of the utmost importance when you're dealing with the welfare of your children. Trevor has taken almost all of the stress and pressure out of going to family court for me. That is saying a lot, because anyone who has gone to family court knows that is almost the last place most people want to go, haha... As far as the usual stress that comes up, Trevor told me not to worry about specific aspects of my case that I definitely would have otherwise because it's just hard not to stress about court. Trevor backed those statements up every step of the way. From the beginning, he was thoroughly acquainted with all of the pertinent information related my case. Trevor has had a solid plan formulated the whole way through that he clearly communicated to me along the way. So, I never felt like I would be caught off guard. In addition to being an unquestionably skilled attorney, Trevor also has a heart of gold. He has gone a long way in restoring my faith in lawyers. Based on my experience, he is one of the few attorneys that chose to go into law to really and truly help people. That is his primary motivation and there has never been any doubt about that in my mind from the first time I stepped into his office. It has been apparent in every interaction with him that my family's well being is at the forefront of his mind. I honestly can't say enough good things about all that Trevor has done for me and for my family. The last six months of family court would have been an entirely different experience without Trevor on my side. I am beyond thrilled with the experience of having Trevor Hensley as my attorney and outcome of my case.

I called for a consultation, he was driving and asked for a quick overview. Lasted 15 minutes and he said he would get a copy of the file and review it and to schedule a second call. During the second call, it became very apparent he did not review the file or even look at it in any depth. Nothing is worse then someone saying they want time to review something and not doing it. I would not hire Mr. Hensley as it is obvious he cant keep his word or prepare for a simple consultation as he said he would.

Trevor is ethical, honest, genuine and cares about his clients with the top care that I have seen with the attorneys I have worked with. I highly recommended contacting him as an attorney for your legal matters.

I hired Trevor for a very high stress situation with the father of my child. He handled it logically and professionally. I credit him with the favorable outcome of such an emotional court affair. Since I’m a stay at home mother, he understood my financial situation and did his best to make his services available and affordable to me. Trevor was completely prepared to appear with me in court and help me present what was necessary to assure my safety. I felt much more at ease with him by my side. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he is kind and compassionate and very understanding. He returns calls and emails in a timely fashion and doesn’t leave any question you might have unanswered. He doesn’t make you feel badly if you don’t understand a term or anything else of that sort. I was really pleased with him and how he did things. I would definitely recommend Trevor to anyone and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again should I have to!

I have hired many attorneys through out my life for divorce, child custody and other legal issues but Trevor was far the best. He answered the majority of my calls and returned the ones he missed. He was caring and very compassionate. He really knows what he is doing in the court room. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have gotten my custody back. If he was in the office he would take my call immediately and ease the pain that I was going through. It was a hard battle for me fighting for custody but Trevor helped me so much to ease the pain. If it wasn't for Trevor I don't know what I would have done. I interviewed a few attorneys before I found Trevor and all they wanted was my money and a whole bunch of it. Trevor and his law firm were nothing like that. He charged only the hours he worked and I paid him for all his hard work because he deserved it and so did the firm. I can honestly say that I would not know where I would be with my very complicated divorce/custody case if it were not for Trevor coming to my rescue on more than one occasion.
