***************************************************************************** I was referred to Mr. Lundy by a friend 4 years ago. He helped me and my father with a wrongful death/medical malpractice case against a doctor. The doctor made 3 critical mistakes that resulted in the death of my 69 year old mother. Her death was sudden and unexpected. She bled to death right in front of us in the ICU. My father was in complete shock for the year following. My parents were married for 47 years. Mr. Lundy not only worked tirelessly on our case, but treated me and my father with the upmost respect, kindness and patience. Every time we met with him and relived my mother's death, I saw my dad breakdown and cry as we heard the details time and time again. As busy as Mr. Lundy was, I always felt like he took an extra minute to listen to my dad with compassion and understanding. We worked with Mr. Lundy for over a year. He was honest with us from the first day we met him and attacked our case from every angle. He was always available if we had a question or concern, was very upfront with us, explained complicated details and never sugar coated anything. My father and I were both in an almost numb state after my mother's death, and we appreciated Mr. Lundy's honesty and devotion to our case. Additionally, his staff was always kind and helpful and never made us feel like we had a dumb question. I could have never handled a case like this with anyone else while grieving myself and helping my father get his feet back on the ground. I never want to go through the California probate process ever again. But I'm glad I went through it with Baker, Burton & Lundy. They are extraordinary attorneys -- one of the best full-service boutique law firms in Southern California. Top-notch all around. After my mom suddenly passed away, I retained Brad Baker and his team to handle the probate of my mom's estate. (I live out of state.) Brad Baker is one of the friendliest, most relaxed, and most charismatic attorneys I happen to know. He put my mind at ease while his team and I navigated the joys of the California probate system. But don't let his easygoing demeanor fool you -- the man knows his law, knows the system, and will be a fierce advocate for your interests. Not only did my mom pass away, I had the added misfortune of defending a related lawsuit. But it was my good fortune that I'd already been working with Baker, Burton & Lundy. This is what I'd meant when I said the firm is top-notch all-around -- they have a boutique (and super-competent) litigation group. I worked with Evan Koch in defending what was a bizarre and difficult lawsuit by all accounts -- he has the same easy-going demeanor as Brad, and he's an incredibly effective litigator that thinks about issues with the skill of a lawyer who's been at the top of his game for decades. He's savvy about case strategy but is also sensitive to personal client concerns. And it's not as if Brad disappeared while I was working with Evan -- Brad remained involved in the case and offered his thoughts and insights throughout, which I found incredibly invaluable. A great team all around. A shout-out to the staff, as well. Jennifer was superb in keeping me up to date with administrative particulars (when things were filed, calendar dates, etc.). Whitney and Diane were incredibly helpful and obliging in handling billing issues and other correspondence with the office. As a client, I would hire Baker, Burton & Lundy again in a heartbeat. As a lawyer, I think of the folks at Baker, Burton & Lundy as exemplars of good, effective attorneys. You can't ask for a better team.
