Mr. Kaufman represented me in a contentious family dissolution matter. He was a skilled advocate, who was efficient and extremely effective. He was extremely responsive to my questions and concerns, and offered practical advice with compassion. I would (and have) recommended him to others.

I was at the end of my ropes with my ex-husband and I had no where to turn to. I had another attorney who kept urging me to settle with a crystal-meth abuser. Mr. Kaufman did right by us. He showed kindness when I was at my most vulnerable. Even in the courtroom, it looked like the judge was not going to believe what was really going on. Mr. Kaufman zealously advocated for me and my daughter. I am eternally greatful for his help. He inspired me to go to law school so that one day I can be the type of attorney that he is.

Stephen J. Kaufman is an outstanding lawyer and an honorable man. He first helped me get a TRO that all the other lawyers told me would be impossible to get He then helped me through a very drawn out divorce. He has always looked out for my best interests and fought for what he knew I deserved. He was succinct, always answered emails quickly, helped me to know what was important to fight for and what I could let go, and he made me feel safe in court. If there was a question that he didn't know, he would find out the information; my case was across state lines and that raised some unusual points. He was treated with respect by the opposing lawyer and the judge, and had anamazing way of talking with the oposing counsel that was disarming and effective. He kept a positive manner throughout the negioations and was forceful if it required it. I would reccomend him for a family lawyer.

From the moment I spoke with Steve during a very stressful and unsure stage in my life, and the lives of my children, I knew he would passionately represent the best interest of my children. I felt confident every step of the way that I had far superior representation than the dozen other “opposing counsels” representing the other party.
