I was hit by a car while biking in Berkeley and got a concussion and several broken bones. Having Kyle as my lawyer was perhaps the only highlight of my experience. He was incredibly kind, sympathetic, and strategic in finding ways to support me as much as possible. Despite the fact that I had a police report claiming I was at fault for the accident, Kyle was able to persist in advocating for me until we could get a settlement from the driver's insurance company. He even reduced his rate so that I could get more of the payout! Kyle was highly responsive and able to readily answer my questions about the process, including setting realistic expectations for the outcome. More importantly, he showed me genuine care and compassion throughout our work together that made me feel less alone in a challenging time. We all deserve legal support like this, but I imagine it's very rare. I'd recommend Kyle to anyone involved in a bike accident in the Bay. Also, wear a helmet, everyone!

Excellent bicycle lawyer, highly recommend!! I was hit from my bike by a driver on my commute, just around the corner from my house. Driver rolled a stop, did not see me, and sideswiped me hard enough to throw me off the bike and dent his car. Driver was at fault, police report confirmed. I was in pain, but able to get up. Bruised and battered, but could have been far worse. Two days later I get a call from the driver’s insurance company. The driver had failed an insurance claim trying to blame the collision on me. First question: ‘were you wearing a helmet?’ (irrelevant as not a legal requirement in CA). Second question: ‘were you biking against traffic’. They would never pose this question to the driver of a car. Then tried to make it my responsibility to get them the police report unless they were going to recover damages against my homeowner’s insurance. They kept sending letters for several weeks to the point I was fed up with their attempts at victim blaming and looked for a good bicycle lawyer. I reached out to Kyle and got a very quick response. We communicated by email and spoke by phone, I relayed the details of the case, including the police report. Kyle offered to take over and represent my interest in filing a counterclaim for pain and suffering with the insurance company. I decided to do this. Kyle took over as my representative, letters from the insurance company stopped, and after collecting the necessary information, he was able to negotiate a settlement from the insurance company. I would likely not have filed a claim if the driver who caused the accident had not tried to pin the blame on me – aided by his insurance company.
