After experiencing an unpleasant, long drawn out, and expensive out-of-state probate of my mother-in-law’s estate, I was convinced that my own brother, sister, and I should not be subjected to a similar excruciating legal process when our mother passes on. My mother had been talking for awhile about updating her will, but had not gotten around to it. So, I began helping her by researching estate planning lawyers in the Lake County area. I wanted a lawyer that was focused on estate planning as his or her primary specialty and had years of solid experience in trust administration and dealing with the probate court process. The experience gained and the specialty focus provides for better overall estate planning for his or her clients. The one lawyer in the area that stood out based on my criteria was Dennis Fordham. He had all the right experience I was looking for. After the first consultation, I knew he was the right lawyer for the task. He took the time with my mother and I to go over the details of her estate, listen to her wishes on how her estate should be handled and provided the best options that were appropriate for her situation. I was impressed with Dennis’ knowledge of wills and trusts but also with how he listened closely to our needs. He was patient with us, answered all of our questions and helped us understand the relevant estate planning legal issues in plain English. Dennis prepared all of the Estate Planning documents in a timely manner and was very reasonable with his fees. My mother and I now have peace of mind that her affairs are in order and her children know what to do and how to do it with a very solid and professional estate plan. My husband and I are newly retired and recently moved to California. We had a will already, but soon realized it was not sufficient to ensure the proper handling of our estate here. We were very pleased to find a good local attorney that specialized in estate planning to guide us through the process. Dennis and his small staff provided excellent service in an open, honest manner. He is very precise, pays close attention to detail and answered all our questions. Great lawyer to see when your doing your planning

My wife and I went to Dennis because we needed an estate plan. He's great! Quite frankly, Dennis thought of everything -- down to the last detail.
