In less than six hours after filling out the online questionnaire, around eight am, I received a call from Emily, Jim's assistant. Emily made the appointment and I was sitting in his office talking with him that very afternoon. From the start, Jim was so prepared and informative and honest with me. When I first met Jim I felt relief, and for the first time since the beginning of this ordeal I felt hopeful. But more importantly, I felt respected and understood. Jim realized that my Mom was a valuable person. What Jim did was remarkable. Jim's professional and personal touch is beyond measure. Jim, we all thank you so much for helping our family through this difficult time. I never met Mr. Morgan in person, but during one of the most difficult times in my life, he was an amazing advocate. Jim Morgan provided very competent and humane representation in the aftermath of an elder abuse incident at a nursing home involving my close relative. He was always communicative and clear about all of our options in pursuing a case against the nursing home, and said up front that he'd spare our family as much time and energy dealing with the traumatic issue as possible - he delivered on that promise. He kept us informed about the negotiations only as necessary, and answered all of our questions right away. We were referred to Jim Morgan after my mother who was partially incapacitated after never fully recovering from a major surgery also lost her ability to swallow. She had to be fed by a feeding tube. In one of the hospitals she was fed breakfast by mouth by one of the nurses. She aspirated on this food and contracted a serious pneumonia due to the food entering her lungs. Our mother was a complicated patient because of her inability to swallow or keep her lungs clear. She was in and out of hospitals for two years. The doctors of some of these facilities were unethical and improperly cared for her. This not only created an additional physical hardship on my mother, but also an emotional trauma for the family. The practices by the doctors, hospital and their administration staff resulted in abuse of her Medicare benefits by using all of her Medicare days, which created a major financial mess and burden for the family. Jim Morgan was not only able to obtain a settlement from the hospital that improperly fed my mother by mouth, but he was also able to have most of our medical bills from various doctors and hospitals either settled for nothing or settled for a small percentage of the balance due to improper billing. Being a professional in finance, Jim gave me a sense of sanity and relief as he communicated with the hospitals and collection agencies so we could concentrate on our mother’s care. I highly recommend Jim Morgan and his firm, Lanzone Morgan. They took a critical time in our life and eased a family’s pain.

My mother contracted a serious skin condition at a nursing facility at which she was recovering from a fall. While the facility did a good job of rehabilitating my mother's orthopedic injuries, the family felt that her skin condition was not dealt with promptly, and it continued to worsen. As a result, by the time my mother was released from the facility, she was really suffering from continuous itching. She later remarked that the skin condition was much harder to deal with than her original orthopedic injuries. Attempts by the family to contact the nursing facility directly regarding compensation were not fruitful, and I was eventually referred to Jim Morgan by another attorney. Jim was very knowledgeable regarding nursing facility neglect cases, and he was successful in negotiating a settlement which we felt was justified and very fair. It was such a great relief when a final settlement was reached by Jim, and our entire family is very grateful for everything he did for us. Throughout the whole process, he kept us informed about what was happening, and his conversations with us and requests for information were always understandable, and didn’t involve a lot of “legalease”.
