The thing that made me feel guilty was the time that my son had to undergo a traumatic incident. It was almost 3 years ago since we had a car accident while my son was in a car seat. Today, let me share with you how this incident has affected my son's life. It all started when I was in the carpool lane and the traffic was heavy. I noticed that the other person driving his vehicle had been getting a little too close to my car a few times before he rear-ended our vehicle. It was a low speed and we were rear-ended from behind. Due to the impact, my son's car seat was bolted. I got scared and panicked. I couldn't believe what just happened. My son was crying a lot and I felt very sorry for him. A few moments later, the police and paramedics arrived at the scene. A police report was filed and we were both immediately taken to the St. John's Regional Medical Center. Due to this incident, my son was traumatized after the vehicle accident that occurred last August 27, 2021. My son and I were examined at the hospital, and he was playful when he was examined. The Doctor told me that he is stable with no signs of injury, and I was given a prescribed medication which is Tylenol for any pain, but if any pain pops up, I need to bring my son back to the same hospital. I was also advised to go and follow up with a pediatrician. My son did not have any further evaluation aside from the pediatric examination. He was discharged in a stable condition. I'm glad that my son and I were both safe. However, he suffered from nightmares and PSTD. Although my son was just a minor, he was very innocent and he really didn't know what was happening. I did everything to make my son feel better. I surround him with positive and loving people. I am writing this on behalf of my 3-year-old son. The suddenness and unpredictability of accidents can make us acutely aware of the fragility of life. This realization leads me to a renewed appreciation for each moment and a desire to make the most out of life. Surviving a car accident can evoke feelings of immense gratitude for being alive and relatively unharmed. I felt grateful that I survived a traumatic car accident last March 31, 2022. I was with my husband, we were driving a Hyundai Sedan when a Nissan Pathfinder collided into our vehicle. At the moment of collision, we were lucky because we did not hit any parts of our body in our vehicle. But I was very scared and my husband was very nervous as well. Since no one was seriously injured, only the police were notified and arrived at the scene. The police officers investigated the scene and a report was filed. Since the accident, I suffered from pain in my neck with radiation down the right arm and lower back. The pain was somewhat like burning, tingling, deep pressure, and spasms. Until my husband and I decided to look for a personal injury through our Facebook account. We called their office and our case got in. One of the Beverly Law Firm representatives described how the process goes and I immediately signed the agreement. Subsequently, I underwent evaluation and 15 sessions of treatment by a chiropractor. However, the pain was unresolved and I was referred by Dr. Loreen Hebert, a chiropractor to the pain management Doctor for further evaluation. I was recommended to have an MRI and X-rays of my injured parts. As the Physician reviewed the MRI and X-ray results, I underwent lumbar facet and cervical facet injections, and this procedure improved my neck and back pain by up to 80%. I had injections more than once and received a great amount of benefits. I was then released from all sorts of medical facilities. This accident negatively impacted my physical and personal life. The pain I sustained was aggravated by physical activity and alleviated by rest. It impairs my ability to do the following activities - chores, walking/running. My husband and I are supporting each other to recover from this chaotic experience. And we were both happy that we were given the right treatment for our injuries.
