As a recent DUI offender who retained Mr. Gold's services, here is what you need to know: 1. He has over 20 years of law practice and specializes in DUI cases only. 2. He knows the in-and-outs of every court system in LA. When I saw him refer to the prosecutors and court personnel on a first name basis, and see that his presence is respected -- you know you can't go wrong. 3. He genuinely cares about you and what you are going through. He always explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions/concerns. I don't know any other attorney that would take extra time out to explain trivial things like what's the best way to get to the courthouse and where to park. 4. Unlike other attorneys that may upsell you services or convince you to take it to trial just so they can get more money from you, Mr. Gold seems very honest and will provide you with realistic costs that you can expect up front. His services are definitely not cheap, however. If you want cheap, go somewhere else and you'll get cheap. 5. He will put in 110% for you as long as you put in 110% for "yourself". You have to demonstrate to the court that you understand where you went wrong and what steps you are taking to prevent this from happening again. Mr. Gold can guide you in this process and put your efforts in the best possible spotlight. Remember this is about your life and everything that this affects as result of your actions. If you are serious about correcting the course and get the best (but realistic) outcome, Mr. Gold is who i recommend.

I highly recommend Nigel Witham as an attorney. He accepted a very challenging case of mine that took months to resolve due to continuances by the court. During that time he was always readily available to discuss my case. He would also genuinely listen to and evaluate any input or suggestions that I had. Where do you begin once you are released from jail after a DUI arrest? You are feeling 'raw' and vulnerable and very confused as to where to turn for help. After reading about everything that you need to go through next, we knew we needed to hire my husband an attorney. Where do you find a good one? One that will really help you? I met Mr Gold in 2004 through a friend at work, I had a 2nd Dui and Mr. Gold got me 4 days home arrest, I thought it wasn't a serious matter until I got a 3rd DUI. Now, I'm looking at jail time, possibly losing my job and the embarrassment with my family and friends. Jeff Gold is by far the best investment you can make to defend against a DUI. My fiancé was in a tough spot and Jeff did more than he was paid to do – calls on Sunday, late night calls and developed a strategy that worked – and took down a 180 days in jail to ZERO (2nd DUI offense plus accident) plus no community service and more. It is incredible. I should say he is incredible. He is rare because he truly cares – I never leave reviews for any company but this one is an exception. He is very smart, very hardworking and someone I would never play in chess because he has the strategy of a General. Well worth every dollar! Lawyers are typically a gamble – he is a sure thing.

I hired Gold & Witham shortly after my DUI arrest in April 2013. I was charged with a DUI refusal, with a speeding enhancement. I spoke with Jeff Gold on the phone for 45 minutes, and once I understood their approach I was sold. Even though I was quoted lower fees with other attorneys, I understand the concept of getting what you pay for. I also knew that paying a little more for the attorney would likely save me more money in the long run (court costs, auto insurance, etc). He explained that his job wasn't just to get a 'good outcome' on my case, but to also make sure that I attend AA meetings and become a better person from this experience. This way, the court can see that you are honestly trying to improve yourself and they can be more forgiving. When I first started looking for DUI lawyers, I thought I wanted an aggressive lawyer to 'fight for me'. Why fight a system that is already so overworked? In only rare cases would that make sense. Attorneys like Jeff Gold make the prosecutor's job easier - which allows the judicial system (as a whole) to flow better. I saw that today, when we went to court and my DUI/refusal charge got reduced to a wet reckless. I still have the DMV hearing next month, which I will need to win in order to keep my license. But I know that I am in great hands with Gold & Witham.
