Laura Butuke seems like a good lawyer and she partially is which is why I'm not giving her just one star. But when she had an opportunity to do some legal leg-work to ensure that our parents' house was passed from my father to my mother without reassessment after he died, she instead took the opportunity to get the house reassessed at market value and added to probate along with all of my father's other assets. I've asked multiple attorneys after the fact and they have all said the same thing: this could have been avoided. Conveniently for her and her only, this added greatly to the lawyer fees that she charged us at the end of probate. This also means that we will now be paying $7,000 more per year in property tax for the rest of the time that we choose to own this house. Really greedy and sneaky BS. I do not recommend her services.

Laura provided invaluable information about options we had no idea were available for my father (even after tons of research ourselves), and the steps to make them happen. Laura and Weylon continue to provide support to ensure my father gets the care he needs. If you are overwhelmed, give them a call. It is well worth it!

I spoke to Waylon about the firm and booked an appointment to see Laura. A hour before the meeting Weylon called to confirm, that was a red flag that I ignored. Laura explained what the approval process was and that it could take sometime to get approval given my families situation. I decided to become a client of the firm and sent in my retainer and notified the firm. When the check did not arrive I got an email asking about the check, there was some back and forth. Once the check was received and cashed I heard nothing. I called and asked for status, I emailed and asked for a call back so I could understand what I should expect. Low and behold I got an approval letter and wasn’t sure what to do - was that it was anything else required? I sent another email no response, finally frustrated I called and told the receptionist that I was very frustrated that no one has called or emailed me back. After the phone call I got an email from the firm congratulating me on the approval. Once they got the check there was no communication. The follow up it terrible and unprofessional. I’ve had better service at McDonalds.

Laura will get it done. Take notes because everything she says will unfold exactly how she says it will. It was a complicated (ALW then Zero Share plus backdate appeal) process that was completely new to me and I was out of the country and when back was in a different state from my father for the duration. She was very very good and I highly recommend her!

My family and I have had a rough few years trying to pay for my mother’s care, including being denied for medi-cal and then having to borrow against my parents’ home. By the time we found Laura, we were out of money to pay for my mom’s care and what felt like without options. Within a couple of months, Laura and her team got my mom approved for medi-cal. What a relief! She and her team are efficient, transparent, reasonably priced, and advocated for us when the county was being difficult. Our only regret is not finding Laura years earlier. We HIGHLY recommend!

Great service and people, patient and thorough. I'm not a huge client but they treat me as if I am, taking the time to make sure that I understand every detail in the contracts I need (Neiloo in particular), and that everything that protects my interests is covered. Laura and her team was amazing. She was able to meet with us in person quicker then most attorneys we contacted. She went through everything clearly. Weylon did an excellent job of helping my sister and I get all the necessary paperwork and statments on a timely fashion. When we hit hiccups, he was quick to figure ways to navigate getting all the appropriate information and submit them within the time frame. I highly recomend them.
