I had visited another elder law attorney who charged me $600.00 per visit. 1st visit he affirmed my family were eligible for Medi-Cal; 2nd visit he re-affirmed our eligibility. He did not know how to file an application. He was no help and gave no counsel. He also offered more help if I were to pay him $5,000.00 to put him on retainer. After calling Laura Butkute we had a Medi-Cal case number and within a week an ID card. In less than 45 days we received a phone call from Weylon Shineman saying he had received a verbal approval.
