Finding Layton & Lopez Tax Attorneys was like hitting the jack pot. We FINALLY found a firm that was expertly knowledgeable in handling challenges with the IRS. Daniel Layton was our main client contact, and he worked very closely with us. We did everything he told us to do, and we were able to reach a reasonable agreement with the IRS. I am a physician and was currently in collections from the IRS because I mistakenly used a Turbo Tax Referral (TTR) Company that failed to accurately report the requested IRS information I had provide to the TTR Company. A close friend to me recommended I search for an attorney who had strong experience working for the IRS but also a strong academic background who not understood the regulations but the theory of law behind the regulations. I found 3 attorneys, made contact with all three, and settled on Daniel because of his professional experience, academic background, his highly professional interpersonal skills which allowed him to understand very quickly the predicament I was in and swiftly take actions to stop collections. Then as I was reading the IRS Regulations for the next 3 months, he recommend 2 professionals to prepare my tax returns, helped me hire a 35 year veteran IRS Supervisor to negotiate a temporary installment agreement, and activated the IRS Tax Advocate, at an extremely low cost which protected me financially until we were able to resolve the tax issues. After reviewing my information Daniel recommend an Audit Reconsideration as opposed to an "Offer in Compromise" which, in the end, 3 years later, ultimately saved me an absolute bundle. My work is to save peoples lives. Quite frankly Daniels work saved my retirement and was I felt "life saving". I am relaying information about Layton & Lopez Tax attorneys for my boss who told me his story. Although he wanted to post himself, his status in the OC business community makes it that he could not advertise his financial situation in his name, just know that RWT is quite famous here in Orange County... But long story short, everyone at the firm of Layton & Lopez are true miracle workers. RWT had a bit above 2 million in tax liability. He went through 3 firms before being recommended to visit Layton & Lopez. The first three firms said they could not do anything. Not that I would know the feeling, but 2 million in back taxes is enough to make anyone worried about ending up in prison. That constant feeling of being overwhelmed and stressed as if you are walking with Damocles' sword above your head is enough to make anyone go crazy. Fast forward a couple of months, when Daniel Layton and his team did exactly what others said would be impossible. RWT ended up paying $400,000 out of the $2,000,000 the IRS said he owed and he has now completely resolved his tax issues. I too have to deal with some tax issues (albeit much much smaller), and I know the feeling of constant pressure and anxiety that comes with having to deal with back taxes.
