CFS is not an easy illness to prove, and I had done my own very detailed initial appeals, which doubtless made it more challenging for Mr. Brehm. When you’re dealing with a former employer’s disability insurance carrier who had no problem approving both your STD and LTD claims - then immediately deny them because you just exhausted your state disability benefits and the burden of paying you is now on the insurance carrier - you know you’re dealing with a major crook and need the right legal counsel to fight for you. In March of 2019, my private disability provider cancelled my benefits and decided I was ready to return to work. My first spinal fusion surgery was September 2018.
