Alexis was great! I am very pleased with our outcome, and how my child will benefit from it all.

Alexis Casillas is honest, understanding, reliable and professional. She truly is one of the most amazing, caring lawyers out there. She was a beacon of hope to my family at a time when our options appeared limited. I remember driving home from our first IEP feeling angry, discouraged and powerless. Our child needed help and we were told that there was absolutely nothing the district could do for us. Knowing that navigating the district's complicated system might be tough and overwhelming, we decided to reach out to Ms. Casillas for help. From the moment we met her, it was clear we had made the right decision. Not only was she an incredible advocate for our child, but her calm and empathetic demeanor offered emotional succor when we needed it most. When I first came to Alexis, I was heartbroken and discouraged by the way the LAUSD was treating our child. We had tried another attorney who had taken our money and not helped. I was a bit traumatized by the process when we found Alexis but - WOW, what a difference the right lawyer makes. It was such a relief to be able to trust that there was someone on our side that knew the system and would advocate for our son. Alexis has known everyone at each of our mediations and everyone has treated her with respect(believe it or not, this is not always the case). She went above and beyond and managed to do the impossible - because of her, we got the services and schooling that the LAUSD initially told us wouldn't happen. At our last IEP, the LAUSD told me that my son was one of their success stories - that would not have been possible without Alexis' tireless championing of him. She has been with us every step of the way, and has made sure that we(my son and my husband and I) are treated fairly and with respect. She has always taken my calls and constant questions and never made me feel like I was bothering her. I cannot recommend her enough.
