J Craig Fong is a very professional, thorough, strait forward but very likeable immigration attorney and was very helpful in filing our "I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS". Quite frankly I don't know how we would have gotten through it without his and his husband/partner Andrew's help. When we hit a snag due to documentation issues he knew just what to do to keep the process moving along and made us feel much better about it all. He has over 30 years of experience with the immigration system and it shows! He's also just a really nice person as well! When I was looking to hire an immigration attorney, I did some research before deciding on J Craig Fong. At first, I found an affinity to J because, like me, he is also gay and Asian. But a quick search showed that J has an impressive background in immigration law, over 30 years in fact. He's also a community advocate as well. Deciding to hire J was not a difficult choice. At the time, I was an undocumented immigrant with a complicated immigration story. J helped me sort out the immigration mess and took extra care into exploring creative legal solutions to fix my immigration problems. Then as luck would have it, the U.S. Supreme Court’s unprecedented DOMA decision in 2013 paved the way for my now-husband and me to legally get married, thus making it possible for J to successfully file for my adjustment of status petition with my husband. Throughout the process, I found J to be professional, down to earth, funny, comforting and very easy to work with. I always found J to be in my corner, looking out for my best interest and he made me feel at ease while being taken care of under his capable hands. I can vouch that he is extremely knowledgeable in the area of immigration law. And I would highly recommend J to anyone in need of an immigration attorney.

Someone once told me that as far as immigration is concerned, a good lawyer is like a big stick. You need one just in case things go really really bad. J has been much more than that, he was an excellent lawyer through my incredibly complicated case, helping me not only navigate through the oftentimes bizarre and confusing USCIS forms but also occasionally telling me that I shouldn't freak out so much over the process. A key feature of being his client is his availability throughout the process to clarify doubts and next steps. He helped me successfully get my green card. I had some legal questions about the situation with my partner, and I was referred to Mr. Fong by a friend. I called his office, and to my surprise, he took my call, and proceeded to give me insightful, pertinent, and helpful information over the phone. I've dealt with lawyers before, and they usually seem hesitant to talk for too long before they want to start billing, but Mr. Fong was willing to talk with me and answer all of my questions to help me understand my options -- and he doesn't even know me.
