I can't say enough good things about Kristen and her team. I was referred to her by a friend who had gotten great results for her divorce to a narcissist, and who won her custody case. I was quite reassured after working with Kristen to discover she is a solid lawyer with proven experience and expertise in family law. I had started my divorce case with another lawyer, and when I wasn't getting good results, I went in search of a new lawyer. Kristen and her team easily picked up my case and ran with it, always making me feel like a priority. They had so much empathy and integrity throughout my entire divorce process. They were diligent in responding to my questions and concerns and tried to keep me reassured throughout the process. Divorce is stressful as is, but when divorcing a narcissist, it can feel nearly impossible with no end in sight. Kristen has a lot of experience with cases that involve domestic abuse. She handled my difficult divorce with poise and professionalism. She helped me obtain what seemed unobtainable at the time - a settlement and custody resolution. I've dealt with my fair share of shady attorneys and Kristen is far from it. She helped me through a rough child custody case and was not only able to protect my child but also my own interests in the case. I was having trouble with my spouse, she refused to cooperate or negotiate in any reasonable way. She wanted to get my elderly parents and the their business involved. Kristen and the whole staff at their firm where great and we were successful on getting to a reasonable conclusion.

I owe Kristen more than she will ever know! After having 6 consultations with different attorneys, each one of them claimed I would have difficulty fighting for custody of my daughter. Kristen was the only attorney who said that she fights for fathers. At that moment, I knew I would retain her services. The results of my case exceeding what I was initially expecting, Kristen went above and beyond throughout each part of it. In all her correspondence with the opposing counsel she specifically used myself and my daughters’ name, not merely “my client” or “child”. She was intent on making it known that I was more than a client and my daughter was more than child. You will be hard-pressed to find legal counsel that does such a thing. Kristen was also very prompt when it came back to responding to emails or phone calls. She always made time for me and I did not feel that I was hold at any time. She will always get back to you in a timely manner. You never feel like she has other priorities other than dealing with your specific case! It is also important to note that Kristen will not sugar-coat anything with you. She will give realistic expectations of what can, and mostly likely, will happen. You will always get truth and honesty in the same room with her, and that gives me the upmost confidence in her. Listen to her, she knows what she is doing and will give you the best plan moving forward! I would not have the relationship I have with my daughter today without Kristen. That, to me, is invaluable. Kristen with her legal wisdom, planning, and honest conversations with me, made it all possible to be where I am today. Finally, Kristen’s greatest strength is compassion. This did not feel like I was just another client, but she understood how much I loved my daughter wanted to be a part of her life. She always encouraged me about my daughter and in the end, we got what we wanted.

Where do I begin?!? Kristen Howard was Excellent! I had to fire my first divorce attorney (horrible, stressful experience) and was referred to Kristin... whom I wish was my original choice! Kristen is kind... nice... understanding... smart and GOOD! She Takes Care of Business, will fight for you and is extremely professional. Her billing system is clear and you know exactly what you are paying for. One I got on the team with Kristin my divorce moved forward and was finalized. I HIGHLY recommend Kristen! Kristen and the entire team at Makupson & Howard demonstrated a family-centric approach to my case which was of utmost importance to me. Having experienced 2 prior marital separations and facing a very daunting situation, they helped me manage the legal and mental health issues, providing alternatives to preserve resources and minimize the impact of the dissolution on my family. Finally, after enduring a lengthy, contentious (sadly the case is not resolved yet) custody evaluation, Kristen helped me assess my alternatives and suggested an alternative which has been invaluable for my sanity and retention of resources needed to support my children. Kristen Howard is an incredibly knowledgable, honest, hardworking, diligent, and professional family law attorney. I interviewed and consulted with two other attorneys/law offices, prior to hiring her, and from the moment I sat down in the conference room with Kristen, I knew I had found my attorney. Over the past seven months, Kristen has advised and helped me through one of the most challenging situations of my life - a move away, custody case with my daughter. This custody case was so emotional and stressful and I am beyond grateful and appreciative for Kristen's legal expertise and guidance during this challenging time. Kristen was always accessible and/or available to speak via phone or to meet face to face. Kristen left no stone unturned, as she thought of everything in regards to the legal aspects of my custody case! She filed all paperwork in a timely manner and met and conferred with the opposing party, when necessary. Kristen responded to all emails immediately and with clear, concise responses. Kristen is one the most organized, thorough, and detailed individuals I have ever met, and her vast knowledge and understanding of family law is nothing short of amazing! What impressed me the most, however, was Kristen's professionalism, demeanor, and presence in court. Kristen was my consulting attorney for my divorce case. She was very warm and professional in person, and extremely prompt to reply to every email and phone call. I was highly satisfied with our professional relationship and highly recommend her. She made a difficult and emotional situation much more manageable.

Although a sweet lady which makes it difficult to make this review but when your child's welfare is on the line you need a competent attorney. Kristen was meek and underprepared in court. She was extremely money focused, sending a bill almost weekly, making sure all fees were up to date before proceeding with my case. She honestly seemed disinterested in my case, which I admit was complicated but rather than being honest and politely suggesting a different attorney, she sank my case. When I was advised by another attorney I ended up hiring that we needed to take the case to trial, Kristen quoted me 45,000 dollars without knowing any time considerations or details of the trial at that point. She also refused to turn over my file to my new attorney until my entire balance was paid (I have no issue paying what I owe but this was ultimately detrimental to my case as I needed a month to come up with the balance considering she is highly overpriced considering her lack of compassion, knowledge and efficiency. I am truly sorry to say Kristen set my custody case into a downward spiral that has taken years to recover from. Thank you to my current attorney, 3 years later I am back on track.

Kristen did an amazing job in my custody case. My case went on for several years and she helped me navigate the complicated and emotional process wonderfully. My children and I were protected and her fees were so reasonable, especially compared to my ex-spouse's attorney!
