Try to settle your divorce out of court as much as you can, as long as you can. I couldn't do it in my case, but I had three long years to interview lots of Family Attorneys in Pasadena area. My life experience, intuition and abundance of time allowed me to evaluate candidates very dispassionately. I became kind of Expert-Attorney interviewer. I created a mental checklist, with lots of essential and tricky questions. The difference between Patrick and the rest was so enormous, that I remember as now, after five minutes of our interview I was certain that I'm hiring him. I kept questioning him, probably for another 30 minutes unsuccessfully trying to prove myself wrong. After knowing him now for so many years I can talk about his intellect, expertise and the level of mastery he achieved in his filed endlessly but that is not what struck me at the interview. I could certainly tell: Patrick sincerely cared for my child's best interests and even for my ex. I realized that I met a good human. I remember how Patrick visualized the reasonable resolution of our divorce during that interview and time proved the accuracy of his vision. So many years later, I'm proud of myself that I made a right choice with that important, life changing decision. Never felt disappointed with Patrick's professionalism and human qualities. I’m going to wright long and nice review for this guy. He means a lot to me. He reconnected me with my child. You did everything you could, everything in your power to settle your case with your ex-wife nothing worked and now you received a letter from court notifying scheduled hearing date. Don’t expect amicable resolution in the court unless you have a leverage. Judge deals with facts and your lawyer (your leverage) detects, formulates, assembles and represents those facts in court. You should be able to describe your lawyer (your leverage) with the following adjectives: Scrupulous – Sees and understands your and the opposite sides exposures. Driven – Stays focused all the way to the end. Ethical – Your lawyer has lots of power over your wallet during the case. Experienced – Many family attorneys get a chance to represent in the court only from time to time. Only if somebody hired them. Patrick is at the battlefield almost every day. Sometimes twice a day. You want your lawyer to possess, I don’t know if it is learned or natural, - talent for advocacy. Someone who is able passionately defend your interests even when you are about to give up. Advocacy is an art. Patrick is undoubtedly a Leonardo da Vinci of a family law. I’m very competent at what I do, and I know how competence should sound. I interviewed 8 Beverly Hills family lawyers. With first 5 lawyers I had 1-hour free consultation with each, and I knew; I need to continue interviewing. Those guys weren’t giving me confidence I was looking for. For the next two interviews I decided to pay for the consultation hoping to buy some unbiased clarity of my situation. Money didn’t make any difference. Again, I was receiving vague and manipulative answers. 30 Minute interview with Patrick brought me an instant clarity. However, I wanted to see him in action before I hire him. I attended 3 random hearings (Hearings are open to public). Patrick was present in two of them. He was representing petitioner in one case and respondent in the other. What I observed was impressive. I noticed one fact. Basically, in both cases, Patrick almost always was in complete harmony with the judge. I hired him. I didn’t care about all his credentials. I hired him observing that perfect harmony. No single disappointing moment through the entire case. I had complicated case with lots of opportunities for unethical attorney to drag the case. Patrick was as efficient as Henry Ford’s assembly line. No single unnecessary move. His every step was producing result, reaching the target. Patrick met all my expectations. Once again, no single disappointment. I would like to say few things about his fees. Imagine you must order a wedding cake. It has to be ready as you described and delivered on specific date and time. What baker would you want to choose? Patrick is not the most expensive and not the cheapest. Will it worth hiring another attorney who charges 50 or 100 dollars less and doesn’t deliver the expected result? Or another common manipulation in the industry is when attorney builds false expectations and then blaming the client at the end.

Update: I have referred several friends and colleagues to Bagdaserians Law and am pleased to say they've been equally pleased with how their cases have been handled.
