In March of 2014, I contacted the Law offices of Steven Jacobs with some questions regarding an issue I was having with the Bay area toll authority and the registration on my car. I was in over my head with fees and it seemed like bankruptcy was the only option. Austin was assigned to my case and he went above and beyond with the research before I even retained him as my lawyer. The gist, I needed to know whether or not filing for bankruptcy would help my situation, and release the hold on my registration. He researched for a week and gave me 2 options. I felt absolutely no pressure, and I never felt like he was trying to get one over on me. In May 2014, I decided to file, and up until his departure, he kept me updated. He constantly kept in contact to ensure that I was understanding the entire process and he made sure that I was comfortable with all decisions including, my trustee payments. He even got my payment date changed for me! He and his staff did all of the work, while I only provided the information he requested. I always felt that he had my best interest at heart, and I never felt like this was just another case to him. He took on my case, not knowing what kind of work in entailed, and I know that my case was a very unusual case. He would take the time, outside of business hours even, to call and make sure that I understood what was happening and was comfortable with the next step.
