My office needed a special appearance attorney for a mediation in Downtown L.A. Two days before the scheduled mediation, the special appearance attorney agency said they could not find an attorney available in LA. I immediately thought of Mr. Chien, whom I went to law school with and kept in touch. I reached out to him with the assignment. He got back to me within the hour and accepted the assignment. He showed up to the mediation approximately 15 minutes early and completed the assignment for us.
