Extremely kind and professional. Made me feel safe and a priority while being in very good hands. I never felt like just another number to Mr. Kinney. He made me feel like my business was valued and my case was important to him, even with a very large case load.

Van Kinney is arguably the most corrupt and unethical lawyer in Shasta County. He has a long list of complaints, ethics violations, and sanctions, and license suspensions listed on the California Bar Assn. Website. His daughter Chase Kinney is every bit as corrupt and unethical. He also appears to have an extremely bad reputation for being unethical in the legal community of Shasta County. Three lawyers and a paralegal stated without prompting that he was known to be the most unethical lawyers in the county. He has harmed me by using intentional fraud, deception, unethical behaviors (especially a serious undisclosed conflict of interest) to obtain information that has been used against me causing severe financial harm. Do not for a minute trust this corrupt lawyer!

Mr. Cogan and his team are the best. They were super kind to me every time, they did such a good job and got things done without worries.

Undoubtedly the best and most respected family law attorney around. You know a good attorney by how their peers speak of them. Van Kinney is an astounding attorney and even more so of an extraordinary person. Could not recommend on a higher regard.

Ethically Challenged Father and Daughter Team.He states you receive a free consultation, I was billed over $700.00 for that "Free consultation." Make sure to check out his reviews at the State Bar, because there are other complaints about how he is notorious for overcharging clients, this is malpractice.

Michael's intelligence and experience creates the advantage in any representation. He intensively presented all options concerning the circumstances of my case, with possible outcomes, helping to assure my plan was the investment I intended. In presentation before the court, his strategy was a grateful sight to behold. In addition, I've had to revisit my case years later to find that Michael remembers well the details, and has assisted and guided me multiple times without fee. Michael is a five-star choice.

Lied about everything he could do and did absolutely nothing to help us. He nded up yelling at us most of the time and constantly wanted more and more money for a job he was not doing.

I will never go to court with out him he is a blessing when you need someone to stand by you and up for you he will do so he is extremely knowledgeable in his field of law with many years under his belt he shine in a courtroom

If you are looking for a good family law attorney, stay far away from Van Kinney. He states you receive a free consultation, after taking all my money, I was billed $390.00 for that Free consultation. Then when I hadn't heard from him in 3 weeks, I called his office to get an update, spoke for 1 min. , and then was billed $90.00 as tele conference. when I retained him as my attorney, 15 min. in his office to pay and sign some doc.s , I was billed $270.00 as a conference with client. After speaking with him about my case 3 different occasions, it was clear he never remembered anything I told him or he had said to me, I think he is suffering dementia / alzheimer's. In our coversations he lied to me and berated me, extreme unprofessional. Save yourself allot of money and time. Find a professional attorney !

Mr. Kinney is a great guy. He’s also a phenomenal attorney. He knows the law and is able to communicate this to his clients. I would give him 10 stars if google allowed it. The staff is also amazing. They work great together which provides another level of service. Mr. Kinney holds himself to a higher standard and this shows with his community involvement. His ethical prowess is second to none.
