Ms. McMurray was appointed by the court as minor's counsel. She never bothered to contact the motioning party as to _why_ she was appointed, she just started her $500+/hr clock and did what she wanted, racking up over $20K in fees. I am informed and believe that she does a lot of Domestic Violence work, and my impression is that she is thus somewhat unconsciously biased against men. She did about an hours worth of value added work in my case, translating minor's letter to the judge into the form of a declaration. The rest did not move the case forward to resolution. The best analogy I can make is that she was a tourist in my family's life, choosing when to pop in and pop out, and seemingly did so right before hearings just so she could appear informed.
