Both parents are not living in the state of California anymore, We are in Texas and my son has custody, moms in Wyoming. My daughter was going through a very difficult divorce with the unique situation. I was very worried for my daughter and my grandson. I did my research I called several different law offices and everyone basically had the same rate and the same things to say and really didn’t discuss anything any further with me. When I called the law offices of Linda she took the time to explain things in detail wasn’t just a free consultation kind of moment I felt like she cared about us she was very interested in her situation and wanted to help us and gave us advice whether we went with her or another law firm. Linda Claypool, Family Law Attorney, has been a blessing to me. I received notification that my ex-husband was no longer going pay spousal support when he was already a month and a half delinquent, I became very emotional and frightened as my social security will not cover necessary living expenses and my health issues will not allow returning to work. I chose Linda Claypool to represent me in a child custody, child support case because her rate seemed reasonable when she offered her services. However, she charged me for every minute I had to provide clarification on anything she would not understand the first time it was conveyed to her such as determining % of visitation with both parents. This is how she takes clients money. Then she had the audacity to charge me for a hearing that was canceled by the non-custodial parent. He informed her that it was canceled. And I confirmed that with her verbally.Yet she did not cancel the hearing, attended the hearing and did not notify me. She is sneaky and dishonest. There were no changes done on my case. It was waste of my money. I did not even have the opportunity to attend myself. I attempted to to discuss the matter with her. Yet she would not refund me the $900 she charged me for court fees in addition to charging me other fees. I previously worked with another attorney and they provided excellent service and would keep me informed and prepared for a court hearing. She failed to do so. She went to court which a case was cancelled and she took $900 from my deposit. It’s sad she has to take money from a struggling single parent.

My divorce was a relentless battle that took 3 years to finalize and no one could've handled it more gracefully than Linda Claypool. We both learned a great deal from this adversary and she reminded me what was at stake if I let my emotions control me. From the beginning I needed a true north, and she was that for me. Redirecting my thoughts, focusing my attention on what was most important. It was easy to get stirred by drama, my marriage was filled to the brim with it, but she helped me draw boundaries, and create a safe haven for myself and my daughter. Towards the end, I was the one who used my voice more, and came to an agreement when all seemed lost. I was able to put a very tough chapter of my life to close and Linda had the endurance to see it through. In the new chapter, I can't say it's overly sunny, but I will say that coparenting will never be what it was those first two years. We have a dialogue and rules that are in place, it creates a safety net if circumstances ever do change. I feel better about myself, the situation doesn't feel impossible, I no longer carry shame.
