I was recently in a child abuse and CPS case regarding my teenage daughter in which Evelyn provided me an honest opinion and guidance. My criminal case was dismissed with Evelyn's great negotiation skills. I highly recommend her!

My husband and I were foster parents interested in adopting a child who had been in our care for a while. What had initially looked like a very straightforward foster-adoption placement ended up getting complicated. We feared losing the child in our care. We felt like we needed a lawyer to advocate for us and also help us advocate for our child. We received a recommendation for Evelyn Cox and met with her for a consult. We found her to be direct, honest and efficient so we hired her. Our initial impression of Evelyn remained true throughout the court process- she was very direct, honest, open and efficient. She always kept us updated and was very clear about our roles in the process and what we should and shouldn't do. Most importantly, she was effective and impressive in the courtroom- our adoption will be finalized soon! We couldn't have asked for a better lawyer!

I never thought I'd be writing a review for a CPS attorney. In fact, I thought those who would need to hire such a person would be a real piece of work, and not be deserving of a great defense attorney. I was wrong, and very, very, grateful that I found Ms. Cox, who came highly recommended from my family law attorney. I was, and still am, going through a nightmare custody battle with my Ex-wife. My Ez-wife actually works in the same building with CPS, and new the the CPS caseworkers that worked our case. The deck was stacked against me, to say the least. After hiring Ms. Cox, we were able to overturn previous "substantiated" findings, and now they are "unsubstantiated" which is a big deal to my wife and I, who volunteer at our children's schools, and coach their sports teams. Without Ms. Cox, this would not be possible. Ms. Cox has even helped me with my family law case. In fact, I have had 100% legal and physical custody of my children for over two years, and it would not be possible without her expertise in the courtroom. Ms. Cox will be very honest with you in her office, and will vow to help you find the justice that you deserve. Then, if and when you go to court, you will she the experience, knowledge, and courtroom manner that is worthy of every penny you spend for her service. I was fortunate enough to be accepted as a client of Evelyn A. Cox. Despite the insurmountable odds of doing so, Ms. Cox was able to get my case (CPS-related) dismissed. I attribute this to her excellent and expert knowledge in her areas of practice as well as knowledge of the processes of the county in which the case originated. I am a professional in another industry so I appreciate her skills and expertise. I am very impressed with the fact she is extremely well informed about the processes and procedures of many jurisdictions. The entire process was very emotional and stressful for me and my family and I felt very reassured with Ms. Cox. After my case was dismissed, Ms. Cox represented me during a CACI hearing with the county CWS. After my experience, I feel a person cannot "win" in these hearings without representation. She was reassuring to my daughter and others who were my witnesses. Although I have not heard of the decision, I felt fortunate to have Ms. Cox as my attorney as she knew the CACI process and provided realistic expectation. Her strong point is definitely trials and asking questions. She was amazing in her questioning. All of my witnesses said she is a great attorney. During my initial meeting with Ms. Cox, I felt she was upfront about the situation and most important to me, did not make any promises. She has my utmost respect for her sincerity, integrity and honest; something I do not generally associate with law professionals. I strongly disagree with contrasting reviews and question the competency of the reviewers. In my experience the attorney-client relationship is a two-way street in which both parties need to be involved and accountable. I know for a fact Ms. Cox's actions would not be detrimental to her clients because she is not delusional about the reality of cases. Again, I believe this is due to her upfront manner. I would absolutely recommend Evelyn A. Cox for all areas in her practice; especially child abuse defense. She is totally worth it. --J
