Kersey Law really help me with my situation, and I would advise anyone who finds them self in any kind of jam that would require an attorney to make Kersey Law their first phone call.

I found Kersey Law through a friends referral, needless to say they were very happy as well. His friendliness, and professionalism are paramount. He eminates a confidence you would seek out in someone who will resolve your most critical problems, and his poise and intellect will put you at ease. Albert Einstein once said, “If you can’t explain it simply you don’t understand it” Mr. Kersey not only understands the law, but he can simplify it and communicate with you so you follow every step of the way. I don’t typically like writing reviews, or lawyers for that matter, but the level and quality of service I received here was absolutely exceptional. I highly recommend!

All these thoughts start pouring through your head when you have a little legal scare. All kinds of fears of worse case scenarios. Jamahl's calm and sincere tone, coupled with his non-judgemental communication style, really put all my concerns at ease. His advice was realistic and his intentions are supportive. I just wanted to write you a note to say how thankful I am to work with you and your team through this whole immigration situation I had found myself in. You filed all documentation and counseled me throughout the whole process in a very timely manner.You always got back to me within a timely manner, you answered, quelled any and all of my major concerns at the time, no matter how big, small or repetitious I may have been at the time. You kept the communication lines open and really understood the stress this kind of legal issue creates in one’s life.

I have paperwork to show the deficiencies of Mr. Kersey’s work on my petty marijuana case. This review is not intended to reflect his representation of his favored clients. My criminal case was meritorious and Mr. Kersey’s lack of effort lead to my deportation. I foolishly relied on Mr. Kersey’s ingenuine display of grace that he was able to depict. At the time I faced a deportation order to a land far away, a place that I was born but have never returned to. I can’t even speak my native dailect. I have been in the United States since I was six years old and I have grown to call San Diego my home. Given the petty nature of my marijuana conviction and the disproportionate deportation penalty, my complete ignorance of the law and Mr. Kersey’s delays and lack of communication set me back at least seven months into detention in an ICE facility. My family hired Mr. Kersey to vacate my conviction based on an ineffective assistance of counsel claim because of my public defender’s bad advice before-during-after I plead guilty to CH&S 11360(a). Ironically, I suffered the same prejudice by Mr. Kersey. First, the habeas corpus he filed cited to outdated caselaw and did not even cite to the governing precedent regarding IAC claims (Padilla v. Kentucky). Second, there was corroborative evidence on the record to show that I not only would have won at trial but in the least could have plead guilty to an alternative conviction suggested by the ILRC to avoid deportation. I proceeded in pro se and filed everything I could contsrue, I learned and studied whatever the makeshift law library that the facility offered and fought both my criminal case and immigration case. In doing so, all tiers of the state courts have appointed attorneys to represent me. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals appointed Western State for my immigration case. I spent over four years in detention and I could have won years ago. Sure, Mr. Kersey is capable of being a great attorney and maybe some clients will dab on five stars for you. But please consider your ETHICAL duties for all your clients. May bless you Mr. Kersey.

Nobody wants to have to be in the position of hiring a lawyer, but unfortunately, this was the case for a close family member and I am grateful to have found Mr. Ramos and his team during my family's difficult experience with a criminal case. This was a completely new experience for my family, but we found that the process was 1000x easier with the help of Mr. Ramos. They were both very open to easy communication, answered all of our questions in clear, concise, and prompt manners, and were available at ALL times for questions or concerns. When I say all times, I mean all times, any day of the week. The firm answered our questions at all times of the day, including evenings. I think what was especially helpful throughout their assistance with our case was the fact that Mr. Ramos has prior experience as a prosecutor. Because of this, we were able to avoid going to court altogether and he was able to negotiate a reasonable case resolution without much stress or work from our part. He was very clear about what expectations and information he needed from our end, and worked to provide good results. I am thankful that we found Mr. Ramos during this difficult time, and although I hope we won't have to use his services again, I recommend him to anyone dealing with criminal charges.
